  • Great design and cute, but horrible quality Great design and cute, but horrible quality
Easy to build and great design/layout. BUT even after painting it with a barn paint to try and keep it safer from the rain/weather, it's already falling apart. I'm going to have to go in and figure out how to re-screw some pieces and maybe use wood glue to hold it together. Keep in mind it's inside my coop that IS covered. Yet the lid to the nesting box has already come off, and the slide out trays are already warped and insanely difficult to get in and out. There's a terrible moisture problem where when it does rain in from the side, the insides of the coops are getting wet (I bought two of these). So my nice hemp bedding is getting wet, and the chickens barely want to be in there. I'm so disappointed :( I spent alot of money for two of these, and so much time painting them to try and prevent issues. Picture is from when the coops were first built and placed inside the runs. They looked so nice! But then we had some rain and humidity and they're just falling apart ... show more

  • The design and quality are nice!
This is well built! The design is very nice too! I am happy with this purchase. My husband put it together by himself while I was at work with no problem as he said the assembly was easy. The quality is good quality and the size is a good size for about 8 of our chickens.

  • Do not buy
Have only had this coop a week and both the pull out trays bottoms have completely fallen out, the hinges on the foldable door with stairs have broken off. The predrilled holes were placed wrong and already had a lot of split wood before assembly. Very thin and seems like cheap wood was used. Have 6 adult chickens ... show more

  • It’s working for us with a few modifications.
I found this coop to be a very good by for the money. It does fit 6 chickens. I painted mine with water proof out door paint. I added metal shims as cross bars to the trays and I caulked and sealed all the cracks. Oh and I set it on pavers because wood left in the dirt rots. I feel like I would have had to modify any prefab coop I bought. I wouldn’t leave it in an unsecured run but it works inside the run nicely. ... show more

  • What You Need to Know Before You Commit What You Need to Know Before You Commit
The Quick and Dirty: If you are looking for something that will serve the purpose of a temporary coop, this will do the trick. If you're looking for something that is durable and will last for years, this ain't it. The Details: I purchased this coop because I was asked to take on my neighbors hens at short notice. At the time, there was the video review and only 2 reviews and those were 50/50. FYI- If buying this based on the video review-- I'd pay close attention to what the reviewer is NOT saying, just a thought. Anyway, knowing there was a possibility of receiving damaged parts, I took a chance but inspected the parts immediately upon arrival. None of the parts were damaged but as I began assembling, I realized that the wood dents and chips very easily. Next, I had to pre-drill most of the holes for the screws. Again, the wood is not the best quality so one could very well use the screws alone but I felt that the wood was more likely to split if done that way. I put this coop inside of a play yard but I do have concerns about how well it would keep predators out without modifications or an enclosure. Unfortunately, chickens are the popcorn of the nature world so any coop should be made with that in mind. Neither the nesting box nor the roof lids contain a lock so a raccoon could easily get in. The top flap and nesting box lid are both much heavier than the other pieces of the coop and the hinges are extremely flimsy so when lifting both, you'll need to use the prop/support. If the roof lid is opened completely and not supported, the hinges will break from the coop. Overall, I think this is a decent short-term solution if you need a coop immediately, but you must keep in mind that you get what you pay for so while this is fairly inexpensive for a coop, you will likely have to replace it sooner than later. If I get a year or two out of this coop, I'd be surprised. ... show more

  • Not Very Durable - Assembly Instructions Lack Clarity
The assembly instructions aren’t very easy to follow. It’s not obvious how high up the bottom sections should attach to each other. The screws are small, and some of them have already pulled out of the soft wood where they attach the hinges for the doors that open. The small “sticks” on the inside that lay in slots from back to front don’t stay in place because they’re loose. The lip of the lid to the nesting box has already come loose due to normal use because it was basically stapled on. Just not a very high quality product. ... show more

  • Quick assembly chicken coop Quick assembly chicken coop
Awesome little chicken coop for the back yard. Very light weight to move around; and the assembly is quick i think i had it fully assembled in about 1.5-2 hours. I plan to house 8 chickens in the coop.
