I used to knit when I was in my teens and twenties, gave it a break for about 40 years, then dove right back in the past year. Things have changed. Thank goodness. I used to use the 14" aluminum straight needles and the twisty aggravating old style circular needles. After diligent research I first bought the entire set of Chiagoo 10" straight needles for smaller projects and I LOVE them. Then I bit the bullet and bought this 5" complete interchangeable circular needle red lace cable set. INCREDIBLE. I started a hat on the 14" straight needles and discovered that age and arthritis meant that the needles were too long, too heavy and made my fingers hurt. So I switched to the interchangeable needles with the middle size red lace cable and OMG I knit faster, more accurately on cable stitches, and my hands don't hurt. Worth every penny. From a techy standpoint, screwing the cables on is super easy, absolutely use the tightener but don't overtighten (no need), the connection is smooth and yarn slides right over. And there's just something about these red lace cables that makes knitting incredibly easier. They have just enough weight to keep from twisting into knots or cutting into your yarn. You can combine more than one cable to extend the length but I haven't done that yet. Now a note of caution. I bought the 5" interchangeable needles because I work with DK and worsted weight mostly. And I LOVE this length needle. Chiagoo also makes a 4" interchangeable needle set but now that I have the 5" set, I know that the 4" set would be too short for my hands to work easily. So play around with your existing needles and see which length you could handle better for your size hands and the yarns you use. Have fun!

ChiaoGoo’s red lacy I love! Smooth, easy to work fast, and sharp for lace work or just regular knitting: ChiaoGoo is my go to knitting circulars. This set comes in a pretty compact zippered pouch which means it doesn’t take up too much space in your project bag. There is a size 2 in this set that I usually use for sock making, some brands start with a size 4. The cables are flexible they don’t get in you way and the largest needle size is15.

I've wanted this for a long time and finally decided to splurge and I'm so glad I did. I order an additional 30" cord (I do a lot of TAAT toe up socks and I love the plugs so I can steal the needle tips and not loose stitches. The unions are very smooth- I had a hard time using the T-pin to tighten the tip to the cord (I have RA in my hands) so I bought a set of those heart gripper pads. Made all the difference in the world! I knit mostly in natural fibers and they slide right over the unions-no catching! The twist kit only goes down to size 2 needles so at some point I may invest in a 0 (but I am usually knitting on DK or Worsted so this isn't necessary for me. Quality is exception (everything you would expect from this brand). The case is small and has an outside pocket to stash a few extras. Came with a nice drawstring, waterproof bag for small projects. All in all it's THE BEST! You won't be disappointed. Hardest thing for me was picking WHICH set! I'm thrilled with the 5" Twist! I prefer metal -and only buy this brand of needles. Wish they made a set of double pointed! (maybe they do!). I know they aren't cheap, but they are so much nicer than having a zillion needles and no matter how organized you are forgetting if you have the correct needles when you start a new and unusual project! BUY THEM NOW you won't be disappointed!

Ciaogoo has a reputation among knitters for being one of the best brands you can get and for good reason! The carrying case is very cute and well made with lots of space for everything it comes with. The cables themselves come in a few lengths so that you can choose what feels most comfortable to you. Overall these are the best needles I've had. The point keeps my yarn from splitting and it glides over them like a dream!

I was a little concerned about buying a brand I had never heard of, but did extensive research, and many real knitters were reporting good results and recommending. Reviews of Knitpicks wood mosaic one seemed to show delaminating and rough wood after using for a period of time, and my mom confirmed; she’s having to replace her interchangeable set. I thought about the Addi sets, but after not knitting for a few years due to carpal tunnel, almost all of my regular and turbo regular circulars were corroded. They were stored in standard indoor conditions in their original bags. I know there’s a guarantee on that, but no one ever wants to have to replace even under warranty. I’ve had these for several weeks, and so far, their performance is stellar through several small projects. I like the screw on non-knitting ends if you need to pull needles for an interim project. The joins are very smooth, and have not come loose when using at all. They screw together very smoothly with a practically invisible join, and they unscrew easily when using the small included tightening/loosening tool. The coated wires are very flexible and will not kink—color coding for the join sizes would be a nice add, but not necessary. My set came with multiple lengths of wire for both the smaller join size (US 2-8) and the larger join size (US 9-15.) I will absolutely update this review if I encounter issues. If I haven’t updated, this set is going strong!

I love these knitting needles, they are the perfect length and they also feel very light in my hands. The only thing is they really cost so much. But they are really good and sharp to knit with. Get yourself a set.

A bit too expensive but nice set. I wish the case came in prettier color choices. I hate black. That being said, it is a nice case. I bought the size 0 and 1 and adapters to have a full set.
