  • Better than Sentro.
Style: Express Pattern Name: Single
I’ve been making boot cuffs with the smaller Addi. Super fast, super easy! And, pretty fun too.

  • Perfect for small projects and I-cords
Style: Express Pattern Name: Single
The Addi Egg is a handy little tool! It’s great for making i-cords, quick repairs, or adding small details to larger projects. It’s compact, easy to use, and works best with lightweight yarns. There’s a bit of a learning curve with tension, but once you get the hang of it, it cranks smoothly. Perfect for crafters who like quick, satisfying projects or need a reliable i-cord maker. ... show more

  • This is a pretty cool little unit
Style: Express Pattern Name: Single
This is pretty easy to work with. The instructions are very simple and the option of being able to not only do rounds, but to have it to stop to do "flat panels" is a major plus. You have to work with it to get used to how it operates and discover the speed for the yarn, so you don't drop any stiches. It does a nice job, all the stiches are even and with the flip of the little switch on the side, you can do the flat (square) panels. That will take a touch of practice and learning the individual machines speed for the type of yarn you will be using. I have both the King size and this one, of which they both operate the exact same. I highly recommend this for your projects, but I also want to stress, you must practice with it and get the feel of how it operates, before you make any final projects. As with everything, you must experiment with it before you have exactly what you hope to accomplish with it. The small one is large enough to do scarves or baby caps and small flat panels, but if you want to use this, straight from the knitter, for an adult size knitted hat, it won't fit an adult head with this diameter. What you can do is, run the lengths through for an adult head and then put them side by side to crochet or knit together. The King size Addi, this will most definitely fit an adult head and still give you some flexibility with your cap. It is also fabulous for making sleeves to sweaters, if you want to do sweaters, with the sleeves fitting the arms with a loose or roomy fit. This small unit will do very well for socks, baby clothes (sleeves) or multi-tube scarves. These units are not cheap made and the quality of the design is well thought out. But, once again, before you make a final judgement on how it works, play with it for a bit to see what the individual unit does and determine the speed to turn the handle, as the thickness of your yarn will make all the difference on the speed of turning it. It does take patience to get the hang of it, but once you do, you will use it all the time. I also use the flat bed knitters, that you mount to a table and slide back and forth, so I'm experienced in what works and doesn't with these kinds of knitting units. Patience is the key to make it work exactly the way you want it too. Thanks. ... show more

  • Great little workhorse!
Style: Express Pattern Name: Single
I have the bigger Addi King and a smaller clone but the little one was just not handling some yarns as well. I decided to step up and get the Addi Express, what a difference! Solidly made, heavier legs, needles and sits on the table without walking all over it. It does not have a tension bar like the clone but it does have a built in row counter, that makes a huge difference. I had a skein of light bulky 5wt and it knitted it smoothly without any skips or splitting of the yarn. It does super well on 4wt, smooth as butter! I wish I had gotten it sooner, it would have made a few projects so much easier. It's a 22 needle machine and knits a tube about 3.5-4" across , the perfect size for collars, cuffs, belts and accents, child size mittens and slippers, even toys. Just look on YouTube, many designers willing to share patterns. ... show more

  • Fun little machine
Style: Express Pattern Name: Single
Size : it's a 22 plastic needle knitting machine (really a toy) but does work fairly easily once you get past the cast on and first row. The speed is how fast you can turn the handle without dropping stitches. I have made a toy bunny with it and enjoy my large Addi Express for making beanies I plan on giving to a shelter in the winter. ... show more

  • Watch your return window date
Style: Express Pattern Name: Single
Unfortunately, my return window for this item passed by 2 weeks, and though I was interested in an exchange, I was told it wouldn’t be possible. After an unavoidable delay on my end, once I tried this small Addi I discovered it had issues that included inconsistent snagging of yarn, and extremely tight needle action, to the point that I expected needle breakage to occur as I cranked carefully. I have the Addi Express King and haven’t had any issues. I so hoped this would provide the same experience and was surprised when it didn’t. I’ll try another small Addi at my expense because I believe this defect is not the norm. I’ll also pay more attention to the return window date. ... show more

  • Just love it
Style: Express Pattern Name: Single
Such a great machine, not built like some of the toy like machines. Yes, it’s made of plastic, but high grade plastic. Strong and durable. If you watch the YouTube videos out there, you will learn how to make this machine a little workhorse. I use the 22 pin mostly (but not all) for scrubby’s out of red heart scrubby yarn. (hint, 23 rows start to finish. About 5 minutes, start to finish.) What ever project you are working on, remember the starting row or cast on row, make sure the tension is not to tight. I tried the Sentro and it failed miserably. Tried this machine an fell in love. Did I mention that this is my 2nd one! Not because the first wore out. But because I hated packing up to take to RV. Now have one at home and RV. ... show more

  • Nice Knitting Machine
Style: Express Pattern Name: Single
I like this machine, but you have to be careful about which yarns you use. The machine tends to drop stitches on different yarns. When you find the yarn that works well, the machine works great. Just takes a little trial and error but it is worth it.
