It works like a top, and I think it will be more durable than the three keurigs I've gone through with warranty replacement and general failures. Bought it with a warranty. Holds more than keurig, up to 14 oz or more I think. It's very quiet compared to keurig and smaller. Easy to clean the entire coffee decanter is removable, like Keurig I think. Love this coffee maker. One small note is the inner tray of the actual maker needs separate cleaning if switching between coffee and tea. (edited) I had to make an update to this review, I won't dock a star, however if you prepare for example keurig kup hot chocolate it can leave a residue in the outer decanter that needs to be cleaned with soap and water or it could cause contamination. I received this for Christmas and love it. I really like the reusable filter. I sent them an email and ordered 3 more of them, as you can't get them on Amazon. It fits all of the k pods with it's handy dandy insert or use the reusable filter to make your coffee stronger. The 40oz tank is wonderful too. I love coffee and this makes a decent cup. It does brew to fast to get the full flavor of the coffee. But I learned that if I use the 8oz cup button with 2 tbsp's of coffee in the reusable filter, it makes a great cup of coffee. A true cup of coffee is 5 oz, and it is 1 tbsp per cup. It does deliver good coffee, you just need to play around with it to get your perfect cup. ... show more

We were looking for a simple k-cup coffee brewer that didn't cost $80 or more just make a single cup of coffee. My mom is getting older and I wanted something that was very simple to use. Now, this brewer does not have all the bells and whistles. You do have to measure the water needed for each cup. Other than that, it is straightforward. On the inside, there are white tiles that indicate where to measure water or you can use a measuring cup. Plus the main basket for the k-cups is removable and easy to put back. I also like the reusable filter for ground coffee. It has a generous basket where you can control how much coffee you want to put in it. The coffee brews a full flavor and smooth cup of coffee which I was surprised. And the coffee stays hot longer than other brewers I have used in the past. We were able to get this brewer at a discounted price. But even at $50, it is a very good choice for an inexpensive single k-cup coffee brewer. UPDATE: After several uses, we noticed there's a lot of coffee grinds in the bottom of the mug. We thought this might be due to needing to clean the inside of the brewer but it's actually a function flaw. At the end of brewing high amounts of pressure is forced through the pod which expels excess coffee grinds. Very disappointing. ... show more

I have arthritis in thumbs, wrists & elbows, so I cannot pour a regular coffee pot of water into the tank. I'd been using Brew Station for years because there was nothing else affordable available. The brew stations are pieces of junk, burn the coffee, don't brew long enough, making you have to buy way more coffee than necessary. So glad to have this item that is affordable and like a keurig without the keurig price. It makes very strong coffee very fast. Delicious coffee. Well engineered. Easy to use. Owner manual is consise yet explains everything, completely, correctly, and in perfect English. Brew button is a light one finger press. AND it takes pods or grounds. Has self cleaning feature using a little vinegar in water. I tried Mispresso and Wirsh (spelling*) around same price but didn't take pods- both burnt the coffee and had cosmetic and engineering flaws. I love my new Chefman. ... show more

First Use tasted like metal. Had to run waters through it a few times before adding coffee to get that taste out. After a month of use the lid on the coffee filter broke off. I wish it didn’t have a lid but if you don’t put the lid on the filter the coffee grounds the grounds pop into the machine. I won’t purchase it again but will use it until it breaks. ... show more
