    • Nice nugget ice machine until it’s NOT x2
We really like this for nugget ice and volume produced. We like this connected to the supply line which helps ensure we have continuous supply of nugget ice. We had hoped it could be in-counter installation with pull out sliding shelf at our new home, but it generates a LOT of heat and causes ice to melt as soon as it is made. It truly MUST be countertop or a fully open space (not just the recommended 6” clearance on all sides). Additionally, when it thinks it needs cleaning (even it you are doing the weekly clean cycle), it is extremely noisy with an awful sound. And that usually happens in middle of night which wakes you up. It’s bad!!! Overall happy but would be better with refrigerated ice bin to help reduce ice melting when inside house temps are warm or when you don’t have adequate clearance to address the heat the unit generates. UPDATED May 2025: After two of these ice makers, both with complete failures, we can no longer recommend it. So disappointed. After market warranty replaced first unit. Second unit was great for only 30 days. Then the screaming noise began again. Then it constantly requires cleaning even when I do the weekly deep five cleaning process. Then after only four months, it continually says refill. Guess what, it is connected to supply line with continuous water supply. It is full of water but won’t intake water to make ice. Even if using manual fill, it won’t intake water to make ice. You can clean it, descale it, etc. but it is just useless. And now both manufacturer and after market warranty won’t refund. Aftermarket might after 12 months when manufacturer warranty fully expires on second failed unit. Major failure on these machines. Big cost for such failures. DO NOT BUY THIS!!! ... show more

This ice maker is awesome! It performs well outside in hot heat in the shade. Be sure it has ventilation. The control buttons are easy to use and see. The pebble ice is exactly what I was looking for. Great for drinks and cocktails. It is VERY quiet while producing ice. It does take a couple hours to fill the basket and if you keep it filled with water, it makes unlimited pebbles. If it needs more water the add water button flashes. The basket is very durable and has slots on either side for the sturdy scooper. I have had NO issues with melting ice. I do empty the basket and put the pebbles in a ziploc then to the freezer or just fill up a glass. I would highly recommend this ice machine!! Well worth the price! ... show more

Okay, so first off, this is a great ice machine for the money. It hooks in to either a waterline from your sinks inlet with a cheap part from any local hardware store, or you can fill it manually. It does make 24 lbs. of ice a day, but that is where my boasting of it ends. Yes, it is a great machine, but why give it 3 stars and not 5? Well, it is because we had it a couple months over a year, and the water pump died. It probably burned up. Upon taking it apart to replace the pump with a replacement I found on Amazon, I noticed another water tank. Now I cleaned this machine religiously once a week or two max with either hot water or a descaler and all of the lines were filled with scaled water, allowing not a single drop of water through them, so I had to pull them out and manually clean all 5. There is a sixth, but it is just a drain hose, so I don't count it. I presume this is what burned out the pump. Anyway, when I looked in this extra tank, it had so much mold in it, I was grossed out. My conclusion, descaler nor water alone cleans this tank at all in clean mode. The pump, no matter the cycle, just bubbles water in to the tank from below. There is no action that'd clean this tank at all, shy of removing it yourself, and manually scrubbing it. So the cleaning cycle is a huge lie. There is a saving grace, however. Upon inspection, I followed the inlet for the water line from the faucet and noticed it never fills the other tank. It goes into a different relay, bypassing the water pump, and directly into the ice maker area above the compressor. I believe this would save people issues with the internal tank, the other water lines from the pump, and the pump itself. Had this a "real" cleaning cycle and not these issues I have explained, it would've received 5 stars for sure. Just decide what you are willing to deal with before purchasing this machine. To clean manually by removing things to get inside, or not to clean by either not purchasing, or, by using the water line with the machine and attach to your existing cold water faucet under your sink. You decide! This is my experience with the machine, I will keep it, but I will also be stuck manually cleaning it until it dies a horrible mechanical death! Pictures show pump location, and internal water tank. EDIT: So the compressor started squeaking lightly, then eventually got unbearably loud to where we can't run it without going crazy. I am just going to give up on this product. It is not a long lasting appliance. Loses another star for longevity. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Love this thing!! I’ve been researching and reading all the reviews on several different ice machines. Many say they make nugget ice but when you look at the photos on the reviews, it’s the bullet ice. I did not want anything but the soft chewable nugget ice, the “sonic” ice. This machine makes the sonic ice and it’s extremely quiet!!! Best investment ever!!!! Yes, this model is a little more expensive, but it has the capability of manually filling it or hooking in a water line. I wanted the option of doing either, so this machine was the perfect choice. I love this thing!!!! Also, it does not have the ability to keep the ice frozen. It just sits in the basket and slowly melts and then the machine recycles the melted ice into new ice.
