This was a surprise gift to my daughter, she loves it and says it’s real easy to clean and my grandsons are enjoying the Belgian waffles, if the have left over batter, they make them up, freeze them and just heat or have with ice cream!

I read many many reviews before purchasing this waffle maker. I picked this one because it was in my price range and seemed like a highly rated good beginners model. I recommend reading the safety instructions carefully and the waffle making tips.. My first test waffle was ok.By my second try I got the temperature setting right for a golden color. I had fun and the waffles were very good. If you are a beginner like me, I would recommend a trial run before making them for company. Once you get the hang of it and understand how the temperature control works and how slowly lifting up the lid work together, it’s really easy and fun. The reason it is not five stars is because I think this is a great little engine that could. The ease of use and easy cleaning are a plus. It rates consistently in the top 10 of various video reviews. The #1 rated are much more expensive, more have precise temperature controls and more metal hardware (hinges). they also feed a family with more capacity. I don’t need that. But I would agree that’s the difference between 4 and five stars. All things considered this model is near best in class and that works for me. If you’re looking for good value, ease of use and very good results this product will fit the bill. I’m an occasional user so I expect it will last for a good term. If I had a family and would use this heavily then I would probably pay for one of the stainless steel models with stabilizing metal hinges for a longer 5-10 year lifecycle. For low to moderate users this product is a winner at a good price level. ... show more

The measuring cup that comes with it, measures in cups where as the directions tell you in ML. The machine is hot to the touch while it is on. The first waffle I made was too well done and I couldn't open the lid before it cooked too much. I would suggest starting with number 3 first. My second attempt at making one turned out really well. Like how well it works. However not beep when done. Only a light when ready. Very hot steam around open latch. Bisquick waffle mix works better than your Aunt Jemima pancake mix. Cover iron with small amount of batter to start. Overflow can be messy!
