The media could not be loaded. Getting a knife backpack is highly underrated. Originally bought it for my girlfriend as a birthday gift as we're both in culinary school and she's absolutely obsessed with it! She likes to keep things really organized, so when I stumbled onto this bag, I just knew it would be the perfect gift. As a student of the culinary arts, she uses the backpack to carry her gear. Storage is immense for all the knives, tools, etc. No need to carry a separate bag for your laptop and books either as there's parts in the bag specifically dedicated to those. Also comes with a knife roll for if you need to carry more stuff. This is an absolute GAME CHANGER and made me a Chef Sac believer! PROS - lots of space, holds 12" blades, laptop, tablet, chef jacket, strap for security, good quality, strong and sturdy, expandable, nice design, waterproof material, CONS - holds TOO MANY items lol (obviously gets slightly heavier if you do) Not much else to say except this is a great buy. I needed a new bag for knives I take to work. After doing some searching, I finally settled on this one. When my husband opened it up, he was amazed! He said that our whole kitchen could probably fit in with room to spare! The bag itself is actually pretty sleek looking with no bulging pockets or bulky compartments. I love that there is a smaller detachable knife roll so you can pack it with the knives you need on a regular basis and take it with you, without having to take your whole bag. I have probably 20 kitchen utensils and 10 knives in the bag, and it is still lightweight and sturdy. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who asks, and I have actually sent a couple people to look at this bag. ... show more

Got this bag back in March of 2023 and it is now august of 2023, it’s a bit heavy but the amount it can hold is amazing. Perfect if your going to school or traveling a ways to your venue. There is some general wear a tear to the inside where your equipment rest but I attribute it to the fact I like to put my knives with the point down. There’s so many places to put your tools! I love that. From someone that’s done prep and worked the line. This is really nice to hold everything. One issue was that the compartment to hold your tools is kinda small and when I had to fully pack my bag I found myself expanding the compartment with the built in expander and it left everything a little too lose and caused some things to rattle around unless I packed my apron and jacket in there. I can fit a 8in chef knife and I’d believe a 10in can fit, but I don’t think a 12in would fit all that well. I do have a 12in honing steel in there but I have to sit it sideways to get it close. It’s a spiral zipper. In my opinion it’s sleek and light but it’s also prone to unraveling with constant zipping and unzipping. As seen in one of my photos. Both zipper came off cause of this. Not pictured, the clips that compress the bag on the sides are thin plastic, I stopped using them after a few weeks after one broke while tightening it close and now it no longer clips close. I don’t see the issue of the straps wearing down. I’ve had this packed heavy for a few months and would toss it around by the straps and I hardly see any wear. I might of just gotten lucky tho. Despite these issues I still recommend this bag, specially if you plan to pack a lot. Extra set of clothes or some bigger books along side your kitchen gear. And still maybe your favorite scale can fit in there also lol. And the extra roll is a nice bonus with the price. It’s definitely smaller and more for holding your necessities if you don’t wanna luge around all your tools. ... show more

    • Who uses a whisk anyway?
They seem to have gone to great lengths to make slots and holsters for all the flat tools you could need. The one area that I could my whisk, ladle and juicer in seems too shallow for all of them. I do shove gloves, piping bags and and measuring shot glass in there too though. I'm real impressed with the pockets and I, overall, really like the bag. It is pricey though, that was a pretty strong deterrent for a while, I bought it and I'm glad I did. ... show more

I like my ChefSac Backpack very much with only 1 drawback. While the knife roll was slung over my back, someone bumped into me. Wasn't too hard of a hit; however, the fabric strap that holds the D-ring in place completely tore off. I purchased it in June to start using it on September 1st when school started. So I missed the return by date before school started and have been using it for less than a month when the incident happened. But other than that, I do like the backpack. EDIT: Czarine C. from Chef Sac responded to me. They replaced the knife roll free of charge. Excellent customer service. Chef Sac takes customer satisfaction very seriously. Will definitely be buying from Chef Sac again. I upgraded my review to a full 5 stars. ... show more
