  • Good option for portability
Style: Gas Grill
The pros: I have grilled veggies and meats on mine so far. Lightweight and easy to carry and store. It works well for camping or as a backup during storm season. It is a good, inexpensive camp stove. Obviously, this is not for backpacking or all-summer backyard use but you could use it all summer if you don't have room for a full-size grill (or don't want a full size grill like me). The cons: The heat distribution isn't perfect, but it isn't too bad. One area is not as hot as the rest, so I use that spot for things that need less heat. Also, the smaller bottles are more portable but won't last as long as the monster propane bottles in a backyard grill. It is still plenty of cooking time for several meals. ... show more

  • Great camping grill!
Style: Gas Grill
Bought this grill for my dirt bike trail riding/racing trips. Most riding places here in the PNW only allow gas cooking as the fire hazard increases when the riding season approaches. We went to the desert 100 race with a small charcoal pit only to find out that we couldn't use it. Everyone else there had some type of gas cooking devise, griddles, pits, etc... Soooo....I bought this one. I've only used it once as I just got it. I put it to the test with chicken thighs, bone in and skin on. Heat distribution - This seems fine but as with all pits you'll have some hot spots. Nothing too crazy on this one though. My hot spots are where the darker chicken thighs are towards the front and one small one towards the back. See the 3rd picture. The pit ran a little hot on low, again nothing crazy but just a bit hot in my opinion, it cooked the chicken pretty quick. Cooked the chicken to 203 F and skin was nice and crispy with only one flip. Kept the lid on it and flame ups were zero and it only flamed up when I opened the lid. A quick spray with a water filled spray bottle worked perfectly. The heat shield/drip shield worked like a champ. I think keeping the heat/drip shield clean will be the key in avoiding flame ups. I didn't time the cook so I'm guessing here. I think it took less than 25 minutes to cook the 4 pieces of chicken. I started with a full little propane bottle and when done I felt like it only used maybe a quarter or so of propane, plenty leftover to do more cooking. Pretty good consumption rate. I didn't not run the pit on high for 10 to 15 minutes prior to cooking! To me this pit gets way too hot for that, I did run it on low until the smoke stopped, I guess it was burning off the manufacturing preservation oil. I did set up a board to block the wind however I took it down after the pictures and the pit did fine, wind was only 2 to 4 mph, so not much. Overall - Great pit so far, I think I'm going to really like it! ... show more

  • Basic portable propane grill
Style: Gas Grill
Bought this grill since the location I was camping had a complete burn ban - no wood or charcoal fires, but propane stoves and grills were OK. This grill is very portable and uses the small, disposable one-pound cans of propane you can get pretty much anywhere. I didn't want to pay too much since I normally would grill on a charcoal grill, but I figured this would be a good back-up for burn-ban areas. A couple of minor points: as I expected, it doesn't heat evenly, so you have to play around with where you locate what you are grilling. And keep an eye on things! It wasn't hot enough, so I covered it and did some other tasks, and it did get pretty hot and nearly burned my burgers. It is a little bit flimsy, it's basically just stamped sheet metal. For those minor issues, it got the job done. I grilled brats and veggies one night, burgers the next. Once I got the hang of temp control, it was fine. As a "use when needed" grill, it's decent enough and worth what you pay. ... show more

  • Best mini grill (Simple and all you need)

Its small and light weight. Connect gas and turn on to start grilling in seconds. The grill is simple and just does the job. 5/5 recommend.

  • Good little propane grill
Style: Gas Grill
Some assembly required but, the price was half of the retail that I've seen in my local. Works really well, heats pretty even. Did you know that if you put a flat cast iron over this grill and use the lid, you can bake Pillsbury biscuits on this thing! You just need to keep your heat medium to medium low. Anyway, I live in Arizona and we have wildfire risks a good part of the year and this little guy performed great on my last few camping trips. It's got nicely integrated features that make its portability and functionality a breeze. ... show more

  • Well, its 50 bucks be realistic
Style: Gas Grill
This gets the job done. It is basic and cheap. The way it is built cleaning out the bottom is hard because you have to remove the shield that covers the burner. Wind can blow out the flame. Make sure lid vents face away from the wind and it helps. The typical propane cylinders dont last too long. I grilled on it almost nightly for a week on vacation and used two sixteen oz. Coleman cylinders. You can fit six full chicken breasts or burgers. The burner shield is effective at controlling heat distribution and killing flare ups from burgers. Overall, my expectations were low and I was pleased with the grill. If you set it on a wood surface like a picnic table bring a cookie sheet and turn it face down and set the grill on it to shield the heat. The upside down cookie sheet creates a space and protects the surface. It gets pretty warm beneath the grill and doesn't char the surface but it does get hot and may cause issues with regular uses on the same surface. All in all, it is a good alternative for travel and remote grilling. I was glad to have it along and will keep it in the shed for other journeys. ... show more

  • Good Quality For The Price
Style: Gas Grill
I've used this grill one time on my last campout to grill a pork chop. It worked great. I was very happy with the ease of lighting it, the heat distribution, and the three choices of heat level (low, medium, and high). The pork chop tasted great - like one coming off of a charcoal pit. I'm really curious to see how long a one-pound canister of propane lasts. I know of a major brand of similar size that says it should last 4 hours on high heat. If I get close to that, I'm happy. ... show more
