  • Customer service is amazing
Style: 20" Bullet Smoker
I had a lid that was a real pain to get to seat correctly. Contacted customer service and supplied pictures. They immediately sent a new lid that fit correctly at no charge. But even before that I used cooked up some stuff like burgers, pork chops, ham shoulder, and chicken everything was awesome juicy and perfectly done. I'm very very satisfied with the bullet smoker and highly recommend. ... show more

  • Pretty good for the price
Style: 20" Bullet Smoker
We really like the smoker. It is what everybody said it is and then what one person wrote about it ,you definitely need to buy. The tape that go’s around the doors that’s for outdoor grills that way it’ll keep most of the smoke in,because without the tape, a lot of the smoke gets out.

  • Well built, Easy to use, Great price!
Style: 16" Bullet Smoker
The Char-Broil bullet is the first smoker I have purchased and used and I am very pleased with the smoker itself and the cooking results. The Char-Broil arrived very well packed and in excellent condition. To me it has the look and feel of a nicely made product of very good quality. Set-up and use are super simple and you can be up and smoking in a short time. I have already smoked a rack of baby back ribs, bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers and whole chicken. It does take some time to become familiar with the "nuances" of smoking with charcoal but it's not difficult at all. How much charcoal to use, what kind of smoking wood, cooking temp, air vent adjustment all play a part but it is easy and fun to learn smoking/cooking over a low and slow charcoal fire. As a comparison I will say that I had ordered a well known competitor (cough, wsm, cough) a week earlier and while I never got to cook with it (damaged upon arrival) I can comment on the construction vs. each other. IMHO I think that the Char-Broil has a better finish on the metal. the metal of each unit seemed comparable in thickness/strength but the side access door on the Char-Broil is constructed of thicker metal and has actual hinges. And personally I am happier with the extra 2 inches in diameter of the 16' Char-Broil cooking surface vs. only a 14" surface on the other competitor. And best of all the Car-Broil is nearly $100 cheaper than the 14" competitor. I would easily recommend the Char-Broil 16" Bullet Smoker. All in I am very happy and look forward to many backyard smoking adventures. Peace my friends :) ... show more

  • Best bang for buck!
Style: 16" Bullet Smoker
This thing is amazing! I have an Oklahoma Joe's offset that I use primarily, but I wanted something I could use for shorter smokes like ribs, so I purchased this. I read reviews and I made some of the modifications that others mentioned. I placed Oklahoma Joe's gasket seal around the top, the door, and where the cook chamber seats on the bottom. I think that without the gasket the door would have leaked like crazy as it doesn't close very tightly. I was expecting some flimsy metal that would probably only make it a couple years at best, but this thing is really well built! I learned that this is the company that makes the Oklahoma Joe's smokers so I was hoping the quality was there and it did not disappoint! Assembly took about ten minutes including cutting the gaskets that I purchased separately. I burned it in yesterday and smoked two racks of baby backs today and it works better than one might expect for the price. It's only a 16 incher so the racks did slightly rest on the sides but one would have no problem smoking two butts on here. The temperature held great with charcoal but it isn't very convenient if you want to use only logs. I don't know if someone would try that with this style of smoker, but I thought you should know. It's perfect if you want to use charcoal and chunks of hardwoods! I smoke at 225, but it held 300 yesterday during the burn in for four hours wide open. I don't think it's really feseable to get much hotter than that and sustain it, but I think if you're looking for something that is comparable to the Smokey Mountain that doesn't break the bank, buy this and you'll be glad you did! ... show more

  • It’s ok
Style: 20" Bullet Smoker
Seems pretty solid however as many people have said it leaks a ton of smoke around the door seal, there is no gasket installed whatsoever. It’s also leaks around the temp gauge.. Don’t like how you have to remove the top rack to install/remove the bottom rack. Seems like it should have an additional removable section with additional handles to access it. Good luck doing that mid cook. It’s a pain to add charcoal during cook. Definitely put a container under the bottom vent while cooking or juices will spill everywhere. Overall it’s ok, price was ok @$200. Temp gauge is totally inaccurate, do not rely on it. You’ve been warned. ... show more

  • What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been...
Style: 20" Bullet Smoker
I had no intention of buying a charcoal anything (I use a Char-Broil charcoal grill), but I wanted an electric smoker as I replace my herd of propane fueled grills and unfortunately, my Char-Broil turkey fryer (EOPD has negated my ability to transport propane tanks like the young man I still am). After reading millions of reviews, canceling two purchases of different electric smokers and determining that only a robust charcoal smoker was going to meet my needs, I purchased this beast. Here are my initial thoughts: 1. It's easy to put together. If I can do it with a screwdriver, so can you. 2. It's a beefy tank. Well built. Only issue is a door hinge which was clamped/rolled a little too much, creating a diameter too narrow for the bottom door pin to go all the way in. Goes halfway and still holds the door so not a concern. UPDATE: Got it in. 3. Gets up to temp...and literally...stays...there. Easily got temp up to 225 (to cure) and watched it sit there for hours, without my having to do a thing. Depending on what you're using, might need to add fuel during long smokes. I've had to on one smoke and not had to on another. 4. Smoked two full rack of ribs right out of the gate. And then again. And then again. Wonderful. I'm looking forward to using this monstrosity for many years to come. Any issues? You know I'd tell you. Peace. ... show more
