Description

Chapin's 97154 15-gallon ATV spot sprayer mounts to your standard ATV, UTV or lawn tractor. The 15-gallon tank is weather and chemical-resistant. It’s translucent white so you see the fill level while working and has a 6-inch- wide tank opening for easy filling, mixing and cleaning. The 1.0 GPM Chapin diaphragm pump delivers a maximum pressure of 60 psi. The seals and gaskets handle standard fertilizers, weed control and pest control chemicals and the 18-inch curved poly wand allows you to reach along fence lines and foliage. Boom not included. Placed the tank on my tractor 3pt carry-all and just drove around the yard using the tank. Much better than my 3 gallon hand carry that needs to be pumped and filled all the time. Spray distance was just fine and pumped sufficient fluid for my use. Worked great for about half a tank until the hose split open about 6 feet from the spray wand and started spraying weed killer all over the yard. Thankfully I could hear the pump running and pulled the power to stop it. But I'm sure I'll end up with some dead grass. I cut off the end up to the split and reattached to the wand, but I don't think I'll use it until I get better hose. I don't need to kill more innocent grass. One minor snit. The power cord that comes with it has clamps on the end to connect to a battery. I would like to have seen it come with a cigarette lighter end instead or perhaps in addition to the clamps. ... show more

I bought this unit to replace an earlier version I had purchased. The old one was poorly designed with respect to the fittings securing the pump to the hoses. After about five uses the connections began leaking and because of the pressure in the tank spewed the liquid everywhere. This unit has a totally different approach to connecting the pump to the hoses and it is working flawlessly. Despite the fact that the original unit(the old one) had a higher pump rating this one keeps up with continuous spraying and in my opinion does a better job. ... show more

I have 14 acres of property requiring significant weed control. I have had many of these ATV mounted sprayers over the years. This one is the worst I've ever bought. The unit came with the tank filled with plastic shavings including the round piece that was machined out to make the lid opening. The drain plug has misaligned threads making it impossible to properly secure the drain plug ... it leaks terribly. The pump connections also leak no matter how tight you make them. The pump itself is undersized so with the leaks it sprays only about six feet. I plan on gluing the drain shut permanently and transferring the pump and hoses from an old tank and try to get this working. Spend a few dollars more and buy another company's tank sprayer because this one is a waste of money. ... show more

Great spot sprayer. I bought the 15 gallon version. Easy to put together. Less than 2 minutes. The 1.1 GPM volume is really great for spraying herbicide or fertilizer with some really good reach. Wide fill port is really a great feature. The drain port is convenient. Works like a champ. I also own a 2 gpm of a different brand with a spray bar to drive around the lawn for turf applications. I feel like this Chapin unit is of the same good quality for a lower price. Makes applying herbicide, pesticide or fertilizer so easy. Remember to use a surfactant with herbicides... Many people don't know that is a requirement. ... show more
