I have had this fogger for almost a month. Here in the upper peninsula of Michigan, we get quite a few mosquitoes. I’ve battled them for many years now by sprain, my arms, legs neck with repellent products. I got tired of doing this every day so I bought this backpack fogger. The fogger was easy to put together with good instructions. The fogger worked incredibly well, spraying a fine mist all over the areas I directed it. I have had almost no mosquitoes and I think that’s due to this fogger being very effective. I have a Stihl backpack leaf blower, and it is less comfortable to wear than this Tomahawk fogger. The fogger is heavy when I fill the reservoir and people have told me to set it on a high surface when putting the fogger on. That works really well and the straps are very comfortable as I spray. I own a home on a 4 acre lot that is mostly wooded and have all the bugs that come along with it. I hired a pest control company to spray for mosquitos once every quarter, but soon figured out that wasn't nearly enough to allow us to be outside and use the pool in the backyard without getting eaten alive. So, I purchased this fogger after a lot of research, and I'm glad I did. The fogger was easy to put together, is easy to use and has made a big difference in the number of mosquitos in our yard. One tip that I read from another review: to avoid leakage, buy some screw-type hose clamps to use in place of the ones that come with the unit because you tighten them down easily. After using the fogger a few times, I've learned that it starts more easily if I barely have the choke on. It generally won't start if I have the full choke on. After it starts, turn the choke off and let the engine run for a minute or two to warm up, otherwise operating the trigger causes the engine to bog down until I release the trigger. But it works like a champ after the engine is warm. One other tip, I generally use a mixture of bifen and an IGR in the tank and have found it works better if I pre-mix the two actives with water in a 5-gallon bucket using a paint stirrer on my drill. The first few times I used it, I tried pouring the two actives in the tank and adding water, but it they didn't mix well. I've also used the unit as a leaf blower a few times after removing the impeller at the end of the air tube. I've never owned a backpack blower before, so can't compare, but this works well for me in blowing leaves and pine needles off my grass. I'd buy this unit again in a heartbeat because it's easy to use and let's me spray my own yard when it's needed at fraction of the price I was paying a pest control company to spray a few times a year. I’ve only used it once and it worked fine. The quality seems good and it functions well. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because of the clips for the shoulder straps. Looking at the clips it seems like they should work but for whatever reason they don’t , they come off frequently under normal use. I replaced them with 3 inch carabiners and now they stay attached to the machine. ... show more

I purchased this unit as a back up to my Stihl unit. I unboxedthe blower and my first impression was it's small, and looks pretty basic. The quality was not great. Looking through the manual it suggests if it doesn't run good to turn the carb adjuster until it runs good. So after reading the manual and assembling the unit, I fuel it up and attempt to start it. After priming and choking and pulling 11 times it starts. It took a long time to run smooth, but then after hitting the trigger and letting go it died. I got it restarted and adjusted the carb as described in the manual. Its a balance of a lag when you hit the throttle vs a smooth top end. I couldn't get both. So I put in water to see what it would do. It does not blow 40 feet, 23 was the best I could get, while spraying the water I bent over and found out the lid leaks, a lot. So I took the lid off and adjusted the seal and tried again, still leaking. I took it back apart and returned the unit. Maybe I got a turd maybe its junk I don't know. I did buy the Stihl sr200 and its specs are less than this unit but it out preformed the tomahawk in distance and how fine of a spray you can get. The tomahawks mist is very course vs other units. So to recap the quality, the function and the prefomance are all pretty low compared to the Stihl unit's I have used. I use sprayers commercially and don't feel comfortable putting this unit on a truck.for.daily use. ... show more
