  • It’s big, beautiful and holds 3 kiddos - sooo fun!
Size: 2 Rider
Kids love this!!!!! It’s safe, supportive and fun. It looks like it will last for years. We got one because the neighbors have them. Prefect choice on the lake.

  • Tons of fun.
Size: 3 Rider
We have had this towable for three years and The Super Mabel was a great purchase! It has been very durable and the kids have figured out multiple ways to use it for fun. From just an air mattress to relax and grab some sun to being a fun place to play and rough-house, it has been a great addition to our dock. Then, of course there is the excitement of towing it behind the boat. It is a tough toy and up for hours of laughter and screams of delight. It is a big towable (easily carries three) and because it is tough, it is also a bit on the heavy side. That is the only “negative” I can come up with. ... show more

  • Tips to Survive on the Big Mable
Size: 2 Rider
I purchased this tube to replace a lay-down style tube that warped (bloated) in the middle. There was only 1 review when I bought this, but I took a chance and it was worth the risk and the price - so far :). Here is what I've learned/picked-up from using Mable. Survival Tip 1: This thing can get some major air (5ft!) when the water is very choppy from boat/pwc traffic (on the 4th of July weekend for example). This is really cool, until the rider comes down. So, a word of advice - from experience - if you get major air ***LET GO***! Yes, this may seem to go against your initial instincts to hold on for dear life. But, here is something to consider - you will have two outcomes if you hold on: A) you will get ejected after the impact OR B) you will get a good amount of whiplash. Our riders had some not-so-fun-and-painful landings/ejections when they held on, but were fine if they let go mid-air. If you are not going to provide a flat ride, and are looking to catch a good amount of air, your may want to inform your rider(s) of this. Survival Tip 2: Mable isn't a one-trick towable. Mable can fly and tip and flip! While Mable may seem bottom-heavy (and thus non-flippable), if you whip the tube out wide enough and fast enough (i.g. boat speed around 20MPH) you can lose your rider(s). I don't think we had any injuries from tipping or flipping, besides riders having the occasional collision while on the tube. Survival Tip 3: With adult riders and with Mable in the 'chariot' (kneeling) position, our boat wasn't strong enough to get Mable started unless the riders leaned back. So, tip 3 is to LEAN BACK when in the chariot position to get started. Afterwards, the rider can get comfortable without trouble. As a side note, when we had one rider and had speeds between 10MPH and 15MPH, Mable nosedived in the 'lounge' position. She would also sometimes drag or tip over without a rider, usually when the boat slowed down from lower speeds that were between 10MPH and 15MPH. General Tidbits: -Switching the position of Mable is really easy. -She also stays inflated very well - we didn't have to re-inflate after the initial inflation. -The handles and padded areas can rub on the rider(s) skin. If you want maximum protection for your skin, wear long pants when kneeling. Longer bottoms may also be a good idea for sitting too since regular swimsuits may ride-up. Gloves may be a good idea for extended rides, or you'll risk blisters. --- Overall, the Big Mable is an awesome tube. It handles all sorts of riders, it has held up well (over three months with at least 2 weeks of heavy use/abuse), and it is very very fun. It is easy to switch positions. --- Notes: Used only on fresh-water lake. ... show more

  • Handles fell apart!e
Size: 3 Rider
I bought this in July 23. The handles have fallen apart. I guess from the sun. They attach with velcro. I called customer service and they said I have to buy the whole cover. You can't buy just the handles. Great customer service. They sent me a new cover. But don’t leave in the sun. Even if you deflate it. ... show more

  • Price gauging, 18 month tube.
Size: 4 Rider
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This is the best four person tube on the market...but it only last 18 months (with a year warranty and no extended warranty offered). The product rips on a seam which can't be patched effectively. What really chaps my bum is the price gouging. The last three I purchased each shocked me when I saw the price increase, from ~$280 to ~$380 to effectively $500. Cut the crap Airhead. It's plastic and canvas, Anything over $250 is just greedy. This will be the last Airhead product product if you continue on this course. ... show more

  • Fun for adults, big kids and little kids- We pull with pontoon.
Size: 3 Rider
First, the 4 stars instead of 5 are because this thing is large and heavy, even when deflated. It is extra heavy when wet. Not sure there is anything the manufacturer can do about it. Also 4 out of 5 stars because you have to purchase a high volume inflator/deflator. If inflating in the boat, you'll probably need an inverter to power your a.c. inflator/deflator pump. We have used this on just one outing so hardly a complete review for durability. Pro's: -It hauls 3 people -It is not hard to hold onto and have fun. -It is as daring and exciting as the driver of the boat pulling you. Meaning that if you and your grandchild get on it and the driver of the boat takes it easy, you won't be ejected (which I realize is part of the fun for the younger crowd!). -It is a "general audiences" toy. All age groups (except for infants-duh). -It can be a "sit on it" toy or a "kneel on it" toy. (two tow points) Con's: -it's big and heavy deflated. when wet, it's really heavy. -depending on how much you ride this and whether you sit on it or kneel on it, pants / gloves may be advisable as heavy use would rub you raw IMHO. -apparently the older model, 2011 and before, have leaky bladder problems, a low non-supportive back, etc. The 2012 model we have has a nice full inflated back rest. -lugging this thing around can be a pain in the backside if you have a fancy ski boat full of folks and no big storage area. Some folks pull it back to shore when done with it. We have a pontoon boat so we deflated it and stored it under one of our large under seat compartments. -You must have a high air volume air inflation device! We used one from an air mattress we already owned. It has a two-way selector to inflate and deflate. We purchased an inexpensive inverter to plug the inflator into as our boat has a 12volt DC power receptacle like automobiles. -you must buy a separate tow rope to pull it. We purchased one from a marine store that had a pre-made loop in the end which you then place it through the rubber tow hole located on the raft and loop it over the side flanges. -If you want to do daring stunts on this thing, you need a boat with a strong motor. Our Pontoon has a large motor so it is no problem but if you have a boat with a weaker motor, you won't be able to make the ride very 'daring' for the younger crowd. Popular toy? Oh yes. Seems it's more popular than folks who ski. I can definitely understand that since anyone can ride on it, grandparents included. ... show more
