So far the rubber is holding up. No leaks. The pump works well and is easy to pump. The spray is strong and steady. With just the turn of the top of the sprayer hose you can easily change the stream from a thin line to a wider spray area. It's large enough to be able to spray a very large area before running out but not so large that it's heavy and exhausting to carry around.

Who knew you could love a lawn sprayer so much? The size is great and can hold quite a bit if liquid. It's easy to use and sprays nicely. We used it to kill weeds that grow in our rocks which are impossible to pull without using spray. I would recommend for weeding but this can be used for so many different purposes. I also have one we put an all natural bug spray in to spray around our patio and it works great.

I bought the CHAPIN SureSpray 1-Gallon Pump mainly for using backyard chemicals, especially weed killer, and it has worked great for that purpose. It’s easy to pump up and holds pressure well, so I don’t find myself constantly having to stop and repressurize it while I’m working. The nozzle is another thing I really like. It adjusts easily from a more pinpoint spray when I want to target a specific weed to a broader spray pattern when I need to cover a larger area. I’ve also had no issues with leaking around the nozzle. My one real complaint is that I wish it had a pressure-release valve. When you’re finished using it and there’s still pressure in the tank, opening it up can be a bit of a task. You have to deal with the pressure before you can easily open it, and a simple release valve would make that process much easier. Overall, this has been a reliable little pump sprayer for the backyard. It holds pressure, pumps easily, the nozzle gives you good control over the spray pattern, and I haven’t experienced any leaking. Bottom line: A good, straightforward 1-gallon sprayer that does what I bought it to do. I’d just like to see a pressure-release valve added to make cleanup and storage easier.

The sprayer is perfect for what I need it for. I found it at a great price and it works really well for spraying foliage to kill small pests woth neem oil and take care of other issues like mold spores that carry Leaf Septoria. Very easy to use, unscrew the top, put in the ingredients and shake to mix. PROS: Value Big size Durable Essential in the garden CONS: Unscrewing the lid when pressurized can be tough

I've got about half an acre of yard and dealing with weeds used to be a nightmare. I had this cheap pump sprayer from the hardware store that I'd been using for years and it was always giving me problems. The pump would lose pressure after like 2 minutes, the nozzle would clog constantly, and the whole thing just felt like it was barely holding together. Finally threw it away and got this Chapin sprayer and wow, what a difference. First thing I noticed is how solid it feels. The tank is thick plastic that doesn't flex or feel cheap, the pump handle is metal and actually comfortable to use, and all the fittings and connections feel secure. My old sprayer always felt like I was one pump away from breaking something. This one feels like it's built to last. I keep this in my shed along with all my lawn care stuff - weed killer, fertilizer, the works. The 1-gallon size is perfect for my needs. It's big enough that I'm not constantly refilling it, but not so huge that it's a pain to carry around when it's full. Takes me about 20-25 minutes to spray my whole yard and I usually have to refill it once. The pump mechanism on this is so much better than my old one. You pump it up to build pressure and it actually holds that pressure. I can spray for a good 5-10 minutes before I need to pump it again. My old sprayer I'd have to stop and pump like every 30 seconds which was super annoying. Being able to just walk around and spray without constantly stopping to pump makes the whole job so much faster. The anti-clog filter is legit. I mix my own weed killer solutions and sometimes there's sediment or particles in there. My old sprayer would clog up constantly and I'd have to stop, unscrew the nozzle, clean it out, and start over. This one has a filter in the tank that catches all that stuff before it gets to the nozzle. I've been using it for like 6 months and haven't had a single clog. Huge improvement. The adjustable nozzle is really useful too. You can twist it to change from a fine mist to a more concentrated stream. I use the mist setting when I'm doing broad coverage on the lawn, and the stream setting when I'm targeting specific weeds or spraying along the fence line. Having that versatility in one tool is great instead of needing different sprayers for different jobs. I use this mainly for weed killer but I've also used it for liquid fertilizer, pest control spray for my garden, and even for spraying down my deck with cleaner before power washing. It's super versatile and works great for all of it. The tank is transparent so you can see how much liquid you have left which is nice. Cleaning it out between different chemicals is easy. I just empty any leftover liquid, rinse it out with water a couple times, pump some clean water through the spray line to flush it, and it's good to go for the next use. The opening at the top is wide enough that you can actually get your hand in there if you need to wipe it out. The strap is adjustable and comfortable to wear over your shoulder. Makes it way easier to carry around the yard, especially when it's full and heavy. My old sprayer didn't have a strap at all so I was just lugging it around by the handle which got old fast. One thing I really appreciate is the pressure release valve. After you're done spraying, you can press a button to release any remaining pressure before you open the tank. My old sprayer didn't have this and a couple times I opened it while it still had pressure and got sprayed in the face with weed killer which was not fun. This one is way safer. The wand length is good too - probably like 18 inches or so. Long enough that you're not bending over constantly to spray low weeds, but not so long that it's unwieldy. And the trigger lock is clutch - you can lock it in the on position for continuous spraying instead of having to hold the trigger the whole time. Saves your hand from cramping up. I've recommended this to two of my neighbors who both have big yards. One of them bought it and said it's way better than the el-cheapo sprayer he'd been using. The other one is still using his janky old one and complaining about it every time I see him, but I've told him multiple times to just upgrade. The seals and gaskets all seem really high quality. No leaks, no drips, everything stays sealed tight. With my old sprayer I'd always end up with weed killer on my hands or dripping down the tank. This one is leak-free which makes it way less messy to use. Price-wise it's more than those cheap $15 sprayers at the big box stores, but it's absolutely worth spending a bit more for something that actually works properly. I figure this will last me years whereas I was replacing my cheap sprayers every season or two. Better to buy once and be done with it. My only minor complaint is that the pressure gauge would be nice, but honestly it's not necessary. You can tell when you need to pump more by how the spray pattern changes. Not a big deal at all. If you do any kind of yard work that involves spraying - weeds, fertilizer, pest control, whatever - get a good sprayer like this one. It'll make the job so much easier and faster. No more dealing with clogged nozzles, leaky seals, or pumps that don't hold pressure. This thing just works like it's supposed to.

So I was informed by a handyman that I could use a sprayer and a mixture of concentrated bleach and water to get rid of the green stuff on the side of my home (cement siding), and eliminate the need for a pressure washer, which has no regard for the siding, and can actually damage it overtime. I opted to find a good rated sprayer on Amazon, and I was on my way. It arrived in good condition; no damage to any components. The directions were somewhat helpful, as I've never used one of these pump-action sprayers before. However, they were not streamlined. I spent more time looking at the 'manual' and guessing which one I ordered to make sure there were no missing components (wand extension, etc. etc.). =/ However, when I finished reading the instructions and assembling it, things got better. The opening for the container is wide and good for a spill-proof encounter. Also, there are markings on the side telling you how much of what you've used. Of course, I needed to make sure I was using the correct amount of all liquids suggested (total of 4 liters, which is equivalent to 1 gallon... 3.785). I went for a heavily stained surface (per the bleach instructions), and I'm glad I did. Key points I learned were the following: 1). When you're using the mist function, you don't have to pump as often (it tells you to pump until you can't anymore, essentially, but for me, average was between 12-15, depending on the amount of liquid remaining in the container. Less liquid=more pumps; up to 20+ at times). When I used the streaming function, I had to pump more frequently (obviously because more liquid was being discharged) 2). When you're releasing remaining pressure from the chamber after most of the fluid has been used, and it's time for a refill, do so ever so gently... that exhaust could get ALL over your beautiful face... or explode if not done appropriately! LOL! It's not a fizzle... it's a booming FFFFSSSZZZZHHH!!!! But it doesn't go upward if done right... it's going outward. Phew. =) As for the statement the handyman made, he was right! This stuff helped me get rid of ALL of the green stuff growing on the side of my home. I just followed the instructions provided, and I was truly pleased. Nothing like a neat house. Also, I have a one-story home, but the ceiling is arched, and definitely the height of a two-story home. This thing got the mixture ALL THE WAY to the highest point of my home!! No ladder or nothing?! YO!! I couldn't believe it!! I mean it truly blew me away! I set it on stream, of course. I did it just by rotating the nozzle clockwise (facing away from me, just like a regular handheld spray bottle), pumped the crap out of the container, making sure to never stand over the container while doing so, pressed the handle on the wand, and voila! No more Incredible Hulk!! I did follow up with a water hose and rinsed the siding... it's just so nice. As for the container, I added water and a little soap to flush the lines prior to storage as recommended, though I'm assuming they'll stand the test of time. I had an overall great experience with this container. Oh! And I'm glad I didn't need the extension wand. When I pull it out again, I'm sure it'll not disappoint. 5 Stars. I got this Chapin 1-gallon sprayer for spraying weeds and putting down some fertilizer around the yard. It does the job well, but my unit had a quality control issue. The Good: Easy to fill: The funnel top is great. It makes it super easy to pour in liquids without spilling chemicals all over your hands or the side of the bottle. See-through tank: You can actually see the fluid level clearly, so mixing ratios is simple. Good reach: The hose and wand combo gives you plenty of length so you aren’t constantly bending over to spray. Nozzle works well: It’s easy to twist and adjust from a direct, sharp stream for single weeds to a wider mist for covering a larger area. The Bad: Molding defect: The hole drilled into the side of the tank for the hose connection was totally offset and crooked on mine. It made it a real pain to get the hose attached tightly. It works for now and holds pressure, but I’m keeping an eye on it because the weird angle might cause a leak or a crack later on. Bottom line: The pump builds good pressure quickly and the sprayer functions exactly like it should. If the hole wasn't drilled crookedly, it would be a 5-star budget sprayer. Giving it 4 stars because of that defect. Just make sure to check yours as soon as it arrives.
