I had the app on my phone, pictured the QR code, put in the code we wanted. It thought for a few seconds and said "success"!!! And it was successful. I keep chuckling at how simple this was to program. I had been a little disturbed at the cost, but this company made it worth it

    • Does NOT work to program temporary codes remotely
Just spent 2 hours trying to install, and camping on the phone with the MyQ team. This device does NOT allow you to program temporary codes remotely via the MyQ app unless your garage door opener has a WHITE learn button. All other garage doors (ours is a Chamberlain Liftmaster with a yellow learn button) will not work. I’ve been using the MyQ app for years, it’s built into my garage door openers, and I can control the doors from my phone. Unfortunately, I cannot find a product that will let me add guest codes remotely via the app, while we live overseas and rent out our home. This is maddening. This device operates exactly like the dumb keypad I already have. You must be physically present to type in a long string of numbers into the keypad in order to set a temporary code (and must choose the number of hours or number of openings that it will work for.) It’s an outdated system and I was hopeful that I had found a solution, but alas. Nope. The only thing I’ve tried that worked was the video keypad. But the battery lasted only 4 weeks and we will be gone for months at a time. Total fail. ... show more

This keypad for newer (2026) Liftmaster and Chamberlain garage door openers works great and is a MUST have. Older universal keypads will NOT work, as the security codes work on a different megahertz and RF signal.

    • Final step on instructions should say press home button once for each direction the garage is moving
Frustrating instructions that didn't work. The final step says to press the home button immediately within 3 seconds of the door moving. It wouldn't save the passcode and work until I pressed the home button immediately within 3 seconds of the door moving and then press the home button again when the garage door was moving in the opposite direction. Summary for the final instructions step #3:The door either opens then closes depending on your starting position. I recently changed my old Chamberlain opener to this smart keypad. This is so much easier to operate. Has big lit up buttons that are easy to press. Syncing with my opener was very easy. What I love about it: Easy Guest Access: I love being able to create unique PIN codes for friends. You can even set them for your dog walker and delivery drivers. I can set them to expire or only work at certain times, which gives me so much peace of mind. Simple DIY Install: It’s truly wireless. I had it mounted and synced to my myQ app in less than 15 minutes. No messy wiring required! Real-Time Alerts: My phone pings me the second it detects motion or whenever someone uses their code. So you will know whenever your garage door was left opened. One tip: Uses 9v battery which lasts 2 to 3 months. I'd recommend picking up some rechargeable batteries so you can swap them out quickly. That way, you never have "downtime" while one is charging! Bottom Line: It’s reliable, the app is intuitive, and it adds a serious layer of security to the "real" front door of my house.     • Good unit, but install instruction could be improved
Installation Instruction could had been better. Online resources showing a YouTube Video, have been actually more accurate then the product manual you can pull up when using the QR code. This is the reason the review lost one star. We had to press the learn button actually only 2 times and not 3 times to get the unit to be accepted when using a "YELLOW" learn button. The YouTube video we reviewed helped us then to install this unit quickly to a Craftsman 1HP DC belt driven unit. Keypads is now used for one week daily and is working fine and fits exact over the holes of the 15 year old Liftmaster keypad we removed after we also replaced the old Liftmaster garage opener with a new Craftsman 1HP DC driven belt unit. Overall a good unit, which is by the way for the same price also at the local HD and Lowes shop available. Plus they give a Military Rebate if entitled. ... show more
