It was easy to pair to my garage app, no fidgeting with pins and codes on the devices! As long as you have the MyQ app setup, it pairs through the app on your cell phone.

    • Frustrating Setup, Poor App Experience, and Wouldn't Pair with My Garage Door
I was excited to try this smart garage door remote, but it ended up being one of the most frustrating products I've purchased. I spent well over an hour trying to get it working, followed every instruction I could find, and never got it to pair successfully. The biggest problem is the setup process. Instead of including a proper instruction manual, the product relies almost entirely on scanning a QR code. Unfortunately, the QR code simply opened the app and then went nowhere from there. It never guided me through the setup process or explained what I was doing wrong. The troubleshooting information was also very limited and didn't address the issue I was experiencing. I work in technology, so I'm comfortable setting up electronics and troubleshooting software, but even I found this product unnecessarily complicated. If someone with technical experience struggles to get it working, I can only imagine how frustrating it would be for the average customer. I also attempted to pair it multiple times with my Chamberlain garage door opener. During the pairing process, the opener's lights flashed as if it was recognizing the signal, but the programming never completed. Afterward, pressing the programmed button produced absolutely no response from the garage door. I even erased and successfully reprogrammed my original remote without any issues, confirming that the opener itself was working perfectly. This new remote simply would not connect. To make matters worse, the unit I received appeared to have already been used. After contacting MyQ customer support, they were unable to provide a solution, which only added to the frustration. After more than ten pairing attempts by both myself and another family member, we finally gave up. At that point, it became clear that the time spent troubleshooting wasn't worth it. Overall, this product suffers from poor usability, an overly complicated setup process, limited documentation, and unreliable pairing. The idea of a smart garage remote is great, but the execution falls far short. I ended up returning it and going back to a traditional garage door remote, which worked immediately without any hassle. Unless the setup process and reliability are significantly improved, I can't recommend this product. ... show more

    • Awful directions
This remote was so annoying to pair up with the garage. That is why I took a star off. The QR code just takes you to the app without further directions. After messing with the app, I found directions under settings, but they didn’t work. So, just google it. Once I got directions off online it took 30 seconds. This company makes things so much more complicated than they need to. All it took was for them to write out: Push the learning button quickly (don’t hold it down) on the garage then push the button on the remote. (At least for my model) But no, they make you go to the app and run back and forth between buttons. I can see why people are super frustrated and give up. I tried running back and forth like the app told me multiple times before I tried google. The size is like all other garage remotes. The range so far has been good. But I did feel like it is over priced. ... show more

I would have gave this a better rating if they made it compatible with the myQ smart hub. These do NOT connect directly to your myQ hub if you don’t have the actual myQ door. These remotes would be a good buy if you had the real myQ garage door opener. They still work even without the myQ door opener and I like it better than the ones the door came with. It looks better on my visors. There easy to setup if you read the guide, it will have you download the myQ app but you can look up the instructions. ... show more

Worked perfectly well. Excellent instructions on how to replace the original (depleted) battery with this one. Extra connectors were also included, but luckily my garage opener didn’t need them.
