  • Great Value
Style: B2405 Garage Door Opener
We had an older, and I guess El Cheapo Chamberlain 1/2 HP chain drive opener that came with the house. It was mounted on the garage ceiling under my sons bedroom. It was SO LOUD you could hear it throughout the house and it would basically wake everyone up - We have some early risers in our house. Plus - it had no WiFi (did I say El Cheapo?). We were starting to have some issues with it, the wiring wasn't done very well, and the sensors were starting to act up. New sensors are like $40 at least and I saw this unit and how much features it has for the price ($209) and I thought it was a great value. We are very pleased with this opener. It took me the better part of a day to install it by myself. I am pretty handy but I have never worked on a garage door before so I proceeded slowly and methodically and everything went very smoothly. It took me probably 6 hours total. I was able to use the existing Ceiling Bracket which helped a lot. Also I didn't have to change the bracket which connects to the garage door - also helpful. I followed the directions in the book step by step and I honestly did not have any issues installation or with the WiFi or MyQ or connecting the controllers. So can't complain at all. It is 90% quieter than the old chain drive and the range on the controllers is much better. I used LED light bulbs and there is no problem. I connected the Homelink button in my Dodge Caravan this morning - again No Problem, and the range is WAY better. I used to have to get 5 feet away from the door before it opened, now it opens from the street. For $209 I think this is a really great value. It comes with 2 controllers, a wall mount controller, AND a wireless keypad which we did not have before. ... show more

  • Great installation instructions & smooth quiet operation
Style: B2405 Garage Door Opener
I replaced a >20 year old Genie chain drive First, I was really happy that this package included everything I needed to replace the old system including the outside keypad and 2 remotes. For the most part, the installation app that’s guides one to though installation was terrific. There are several places where the instructions refer to pieces that have changed slightly but were not difficult to follow. Being able to replay the one step you are on is perfect to simplify the job. Sometimes though it gave confusing directions when there are a set of steps for one kind of door and then another set of steps for a different type of door. One learns to skip the redundant steps in these cases The instructions do a great job getting the system installed fairly optimally. I was very impressed with the guidance to determine the best height to suspend the motor. Installing and lining up the sensors were so easy compared to my older system. Calling the system quiet is an understatement. If one is not watching the system, there is almost no audible feedback that it is operating. It is quick and SMOOTH which is very nice. Finally, the MyQ system literally took about 3 minutes to implement. I was able to set phone notifications if the door is left open over 5, 15 and 60 minutes. I can also operate the door from anywhere with the app. I should also say that syncing up the new opener with the integrated opener support in my cars was no problem. I am really impressed and happy with this choice. ... show more

works well, pretty quiet compared to old one. was able to pair to phone with no issue. did have an issue with the wiring for the sensors, the instructions hinted towards one thing but turned out to be the another but no biggy.

  • Great upgrade for your garage and security.
Style: B2405 Garage Door Opener
Had one of these at my last house….had to get one at my new (60’s ranch) house. Not tough to install if you have a little DIY in your blood. Setup and use is easy and now that I’ve been using this one for almost 2 years…it’s rock solid so far. So nice being able to open or close remotely AND to know when Amazon delivers to the garage. ... show more

  • Bad Quality - DOA - No support from Chamberlain or Amazon
Style: B2405 Garage Door Opener
This product arrived DOA. After spending an hour installing it and several hours with Chamberlain support (We got "disconnected" three times), it was diagnosed as a defective logic board. They are out of stock, and Chamberlain doesn't know when they could send me one. Amazon was no help either. The only option from Amazon was to get a refund (at the prime day discount I paid), then buy another unit at full price. Update 8/3 - Called Liftmaster as the part that was promised to be here by today didn't arrive. The amazing part of the discussion was that Liftmasters position was that I should have hired a local tech to come out and fix the opener - A brand new opener that was Dead On Arrival out of the box! Unbelievable! They are selling defective products and expect you to pay to have them fixed? 8/7/2022 Update Well, the AC Travel Model showed up as promised on Friday, but I found out they didn’t and won’t send replacements for the sensors they had me cut off at 6 inches for their troubleshooting (I questioned them extensively before I did it). I took the unit apart to replace the sensor only to find that the Motor was disconnected! On a “New” unit? Reconnected it, and the unit started working. Also had to do a factory reset to get the WiFi to work. Bottom line – Lift Master is not the company it once was. Their product quality issues make them unfit for merchantability (not function for marketed use). They don’t stand behind them, and to save money, they make you act as their technician. It felt like I bought a “kit” and had to build the opener myself. This is how you loose long time customers. ... show more
