This unit replaced my old Sears Craftsman 3/4 hp opener. I compared many models, looking for the best bang for the buck, with the features that I want. I chose the 1 1/4 hp model B6830 because the heavy duty power, the quiet belt drive, the LED lighting is brighter and stronger, plus this has the motion light that comes on when you are out in the garage, and turns off after 4.5 min. It was fairly simple to install, and the MyQ app on my phone works very nice. Chamberlain is the leading consumer garage door opener companies, and wanted something that is easy for parts and support.

I bought this to relace an older Chamberlain belt drive opener because some of the teeth on the belt had fallen off. I assumed (yes, I know what that make me...) that it would be a simple swap but ended up having to make multiple adjustments to the position of the opener so that the carrier would not hit a large wooded cross beam. Works pretty well once I had it positioned. I would give 3 stars for this. Then came the frustration of remote control programming. I have a second Chamberlain opener with a red learn button that still works just fine, but this opener ships with two CH163 remotes that only work with white learn buttons! Chamberlain sells a CH363 remote for $40 on their website that is backwards compatible with all prior learn button colors. I have a couple of 2-button keychain openers that worked just fine on my old openers and ended up having to buy new Chamberlain keychain remotes. WHY isn't the 363 included with this opener? WHY doesn't the description state this more clearly. I feel mislead and ripped off. Thus my rating drops to 1 star.

The new 3+ series garage door opener by Chamberlain is nice but has drawbacks. The main one being the decreased range of the remote. Even more so when using the Homelink button in your vehicle. I have 2 2023 GM vehicles and with both, you have to be almost right at the garage door to activate it. My previous Chamberlain 2 opener would activate the door from about 150 feet. Also, none of the peripherals such as auxiliary remotes, wired or wireless will not work. It is quiet and I like the built in camera, but if I'd have known the limitations I just listed, I would have gone with the older +2 model.

My Chamberlain really is one of those garage door openers that makes you feel like you upgraded your whole house, not just the door. Smooth, quiet, bright, and smart — that’s the combo everybody wants.💡 What you’re loving (and why it matters)Smooth + quiet operation — Chamberlain’s belt‑drive systems are known for that “no rumbling through the house” feel. Perfect when folks are sleeping.Bright LED lighting — Those built‑in LEDs light up the whole garage without needing extra fixtures.Smart alerts — The app telling you who opened the door or if something moved in the garage gives real peace of mind.Activity notifications — That “⚠️ check out what’s happening” alert is clutch for safety and security.

I’ve had issues galore with this thing. Customer service will only give you a refund if you buy at Home Depot. They tried sending me a mother board to fix the opener which is ridiculous to have to do for a new product. Subscription is so annoying to actually get the full use out of this. Especially since it’s being sold at a premium. Price is too high for it to require a subscription too.
