Its just like a new one. The only reason for no 5th star is the fact that the camera should have better features. Such as a more versatile mount, that can be installed on various surfaces. And there's no way to switch off the infrared illuminators, so it doesn't do well behind a pane of clean glass! Have to tape the LEDs so they dont reflect off the glass, and also quite annoying is the motion sensor doesn't work through glass, so putting this camera in your window to view the outside will not work , unless you wish to view a live video. The problem they all have regardless of model is how they dont pick up license plates, and the video playback makes it difficult to take a single shot of a persons face outdoors.. I was surprised that because this device is refurbished that it doesn't come with the 30 day free trial. These cameras REALLY need the subscription. I ordered these 4 Ring cameras because of the reduced price and having the same warranty as new ones. I have zero complaints of the cameras themselves. They have performed exactly as intended, with good connectivity and clear images. The only complaint I have is with the repackaging after the cameras were refurbished; one of the cameras was a wired connection camera, rather than the battery-operated cameras that I ordered. However, that actually turned out to be an advantage because the outside location I had intended to use did not provide the coverage I wanted. So, that particular camera was located inside the house.
