Respectfully I disliked that no one mentioned the change in size HD Fire Tablet 11th Generation versus the HD Fire 10 Tablet 7th generation so now I had to get a new Tuatara Which is still like new would've worked if My new Refurbished 11th generation was just a Lil larger and the Camera in the Middle. I should get my new Tuatara by Sunday night. But I would've order it together had I known by the way I did my part with my trade in. I haven't gotten any 20% off discount. .The other thing I didn't like. Whole foods would go find the Amazon return lady. She was gone it took about 10 min to get her. Unfortunately I was on my way to work. I do understand people need a break but someone should have been there . Imho. Okay I like my New Refurbished Fire Tablet HD 10 11 generation. Since retiring I try to make my massive Social Security money go as far as it can. So when I needed a new tablet I chose Kendell Fire. My concern was like everyone, what if it does not work. I have had no problems with my tablet. My wife was a bit upset that I had the larger (10) and faster tablet then she did. I just told her it was guy thing and I didn't do it just to upset her (ok maybe a bit). I did look at a lot of reviews. Why would someone having problems not call right away? I saw a couple of reviews that had issues right out of the box. Why did they not call the help desk? I would suggest that you get the warranty just in case and dont forget these units have a short return to Amazon policy. ... show more

Always bought brand new on sale but a recent tablet purchase for my mother failed after only two months or so, wouldn't turn on anymore. Return process was a major pain at first but it got sorted out. Since there were no sales I replaced it with a refurb unit and it was like brand new for less than half the price. All good so far! So I decided to buy a refurb for myself as a 2nd beat around tablet that I can take outside to places and not care as much if something happens to it. Typing this review right now from a 3rd party bluetooth keyboard. All I can say is get it!!! for the price it's unbeatable. I've used my other tablet for video interviews and got hired at a company and the simplicity of using it for Zoom, WebEx, MS Teams, etc was a god send and easier and more positionable than doing it on my PC with a webcam. Check my other review that I will post after this one about the wireless keyboard case. It's like a mini laptop for $100!!! I’m a big fan of Fire tablets. Both of my kids use them daily. I bought this one to replace my daughter’s Fire when it randomly crapped out (no tablet from any maker will have 100% issue free units 100% off the time). This isn’t a high end gaming tablet or anything, but for watching videos and playing the games my kids play it works very well. I’d definitely buy more Fire tablets in the future ... show more

    • Setup is difficult because brightness has been set low

Attempting to set up this Fire, the brightness would come on and then dim to a point where setting up was difficult. It took a while to get the setup done even though it was difficult (most of the time) to see the keyboard (I have 81 year old eyes). Finally, after successfully finishing setup (over an hour because of the brightness problem), I was able to get to Settings and actually change the Brightness setting to something I could see properly. The manufacturer of the Amazon Fire must either allow the brightness setting to be adjusted prior to setup, or automatically set the brightness setup to high for setup and allow the user the adjust after setup is concluded. I would suggest that many Fire Tablets have been returned to Amazon by users unable to setup or use because of the Brightness problem. This should be relatively easy to fix by the manufacturer making a simple change in the program that loads the Fire Software. ... show more

Battery life is great if you have your display light kinda low. Got about 4 days of battery and that was only for Kindle Reading only. Love the sound and the display is crystal clear verses with my other tablet that is an LG HD 10. Memory seems to be as well better then my other tablet as well. Lightweight, screen sensitivity is good and visually appealing. Only thing to be aware of is that it isn't "Google" friendly. I am not very tech savvy so I was wrong in guessing it wouldn't be hard to install Google chrome and play. Like I said I'm not very tech savvy lol. I bought this as a refurb, 10" with 64Gb of memory for $85 before tax, it looked like a good deal, it was in fact a great deal. The unit looked new, came in a plain brown box with the tablet under a plastic sleeve. The charger and cable looked new also. Construction is good for the price, a plastic body with a gorilla glass screen. it's not an IPAD but then you're not paying Apple prices either. The screen is bright and responsive, bright enough to be used outside in the shade. The camera's are OK, 2MP front and 5MP rear, again for the price it's perfectly acceptable. No GPS chip but the WIFI is 5G and it does come with a real audio output jack. Battery life is great, it comes with a USB C cord and a 9 watt charger. If you go online, you can find instructions on how to turn this into a more standard Android tablet using Fire Tool Box which means that you can load apps from the Google play store instead of just the Amazon's apps. I had an IPAD for years and when the battery went, I bought a Surface pro. I missed the instant-on experience of the old IPAD and now that the unrepairable surface pro is starting to really show its age, I longed for the simpler just pick it up and go experience that the tablet offered. This was the main reason I bought it, and I haven't been disappointed. If most of what you do is checking email, news media, movies, YouTube etc, than a tablet is a very convenient option, and this tablet offers great bang for the buck. ... show more
