Description

If you’re in search of a high-quality, professionally designed telescope that is easy to set up and use, the AstroMaster Series 76EQ telescope by Celestron is a superior choice. The AstroMaster 76EQ Newtonian Telescope for adults and kids to be used together is a user-friendly and powerful telescope engineered with a lightweight frame and fully-coated optics. Our Celestron telescope features a fully-coated 76mm primary mirror. It also features an AstroMaster German Equatorial manual mount that includes two slow-motion control knobs that allow you to make precision adjustments to easily follow celestial objects as they appear to move across the night sky. The two eyepieces combine with the 76mm aperture optics to produce amazing magnification. The 20mm eyepiece offers 35x magnification, while the 10mm eyepiece provides up-close views up to 70x. This allows you to focus on distant objects with amazing clarity. We have designed the AstroMaster series of telescopes for kids to enjoy exploring the cosmos with adult supervision. Superior materials provide crystal-clear, bright images of Saturn, Jupiter, and the Moon, along with deep space objects including brighter galaxies and nebulae. You can also use this telescope for viewing land-based objects during daytime hours. The telescope is quick to set up and requires no tools. The kit includes a rugged, pre-assembled tripod with 1.25-inch steel tube legs, which provide a stable platform for hours of safe use. As a bonus, download our BONUS Starry Night Basic Edition astronomy software for interactive sky simulations, a 36,000-object database, and printable sky maps. It’s the best way to learn about the night sky, download printable sky maps, research thousands of celestial objects, and plan your next observing session. Buy with confidence from the world’s 1 telescope brand, based in California since 1960. You’ll also receive a two-year warranty and unlimited access to technical support from our team of US-based experts. From the Manufacturer If you’re looking for a dual-purpose telescope appropriate for both terrestrial and celestial viewing, then the AstroMaster Series is for you. Each AstroMaster model is capable of giving correct views of land and sky. The AstroMaster Series produce bright, clear images of the Moon and planets. It is easy to see the moons of Jupiter and the rings of Saturn with every one of these fine instruments. For views of the brighter deep space objects like galaxies and nebulae, we recommend the larger aperture and light gathering ability of the Newtonian reflectors.

  • Perfect for Newbies, like us!
We have been very impressed with this telescope. We can see the moon in full detail, Mars (as a red dot) and most of all we can see the rings of Saturn. Jupiter hasn't been in the right part of the sky for us to try yet, but so far we are very pleased. My only recommendation is to upgrade the lenses if you buy this model. The kit lenses aren't very great, but do work well. Great for beginners! ... show more

  • Great Telescope. The price was outstanding!!!
This was a first telescope for my son (his own. we have had telescopes for years, but it has been a while). He wants to be able to share astronomy discoveries with the children. We are very pleased with it, he said it was fancier than he expected. But he is excited to get started. he can see clearly the planets among other things. very pleased!!!!! ... show more

  • Really cool to be able to see the moon in this.
Didn’t like the fact that I paid $100+ more than what they typically cost for this model but learning curve for me. The telescope itself is cool and considering I bought it and didn’t read any of the instructions yet it’s pretty neat. I’ve had it setup and looked at the moon a few times with it and I’m fascinated by it. Need to look at the instructions though because I’d like a new eye piece to see even better. ... show more

  • Ok for planets and moon
The scope if good for watching the moon and planets. The eyepiece coming along with the product would not be sufficient for observing finer details. I had to buy a 6mm eyepiece separately to get a closer look of the moon and planets. The terrestrial view is quite good though. I would recommend buying a 120mm or greater to have room for future magnification, if needed. I heard that the 4mm eyepiece does not produce good views since the 76mm diameter is not enough for that magnification. I would say 6mm is the lowest you could try with this scope. ... show more

  • finding the moon and seeing it close up like in the books was pretty cool
Got it for my son to find stars....it is hard to look for the stars, as it has to be small and slight movement to find any stars. But for amateurs, finding the moon and seeing it close up like in the books was pretty cool. But the base is stable and sturdy....just can't touch the telescope too hard, any movement can throw your view off. Need to read up on the constellation to find other planets but the price is right for learning some star glazing. ... show more
