This is a nice close to the ceiling fan that moves some air but not as much as a unit that hangs. This is typical of low profile fans so it was expected. Installation is not as simple as a standard fan either but the instructions are good and well laid out. I like the app and it works ok, do like the remote as it works well and is nice to adjust the light to the brightness you prefer. The white on ash blades look really nice and this fan is very quite when running even at high speed. I am really starting to like the DC fans as they seems to run smoother than older fans. I ordered this for my theater room. I used to have a low-profile fan that was more like a desk fan that mounted on the ceiling due to interference with my projector beam, but I swapped the projector for a giant TV so I was able to install a “real” fan. The installation was simple. It don’t think that it took me more than 30-45 minutes to pull the old fan down and put the new one up. Note that I ordered the “nickel” fan and while the fan blades looked white in the pictures, they were really shiny silver like the rest of the fan’s body. I opened for the wood side to face down because I thought that having reflective blades spinning around might be distracting. The light is similar to any other of these newer LED ceiling fans. They’re amazingly bright without the diffuser attached, so don’t look at the naked lights or you’ll be seeing spots for a long time. Once the diffuser is on, they’re not too irritating. There are yellow and white LEDs in the array, and you can adjust the brightness of each color to match the temperature how you like. The remote control is exactly the same as another fan I have. The app used to control the fan is kind of nice, too. It makes fine-tuning the light easier than using the remote control, and it has some features that aren’t on the remote. For example, the remote has a “wind” feature that makes the fan speed vary between the high and low settings, which is a feature that I really like. The app also has a “sleeping wind” button that does the same thing, but it only varies between low and medium speeds. The fan is pretty quiet. At the lowest speed you can hear a soft hum, but at the faster speeds, all you can hear are the blades moving through the air. I’m quite pleased with this fan. This fan was a little more complicated to install than others I've experienced. It took me about 2 hours, but I did it myself. It is extremely quiet but doesn't move the air as much as I would expect for the speed of the blades. For the price, it's a very good value.
