First and foremost, this is a really nice ceiling fan. More on that in a moment. Be very careful when installing this fan. The control module which nests in the top has two sets of connectors for the lights, and these connectors are identical. If you get this wrong, you may damage your lights, as I did. When connecting the primary and accent lights, I transposed the connectors. This is 100% my mistake. Though the manual doesn't make note of the risk here, the wires which should flow into and out of the connectors are color coded. Match the colors when connecting. This is a bit more fiddly than it seems, as these connections are made during mounting of the fan. Because of my mistake, when I turned the breaker back on and tested the fan, initially the fan was all that worked, with neither light working. I pulled the fan back down, corrected my error, but unfortunately, the accent light does not work. I'm guessing either the voltage or amperage varies between the connectors, I over-drove the accent light, and burned out either the power source within the control module, or the light strip for accent lighting. Caveat emptor. So, back to a full review. Other than the omission above, the instructions are better than you'll see with most DIY products. Pictures are full color, and the written instructions are fairly good. This fan looks quite nice. We went with the black fan, and opted to have the wood-grain facing down. There are slight marks from milling, but nothing that was worth addressing. If needed, one could carefully touch this up with a furniture pen or Sharpie. We had both, but it was minor enough we didn't bother. The primary light is quite bright, and the dimming seems to be stable even at the lowest setting. The fan is quiet, and produces more wind than the one we replaced. The remote seems well made, and while the phone app is a bit clunky, it does work. I doubt we'll use this very often though. I primarily downloaded it for testing purposes. The safety chain is nice...it gives a bit more room to work when mounting, vs. just a hook, which is also present. Overall, really good product, just don't be dumb like me, and damage it before you even get to use it!

This is a great fan! I got it for my son’s room and the colored nightlight is easily the best feature about it. It is a small room fan but definitely powerful for its size. There is an app option but the remote works plenty enough for us, though I’m sure you would definitely get a lot more out of the RGB functions with the app. We both love it!
