My cat took to it immediately which surprised me, usually she has to investigate for quite a while before she'll get close to new things. I'm very happy with the fact that she has fresh aerated water all the time. I use spring water. It is important to keep it refilled so it doesn't go so low that the motor isn't covered with water. I just pour fresh water onto the top and it goes right down into the container. I like the fact that you can easily see the level of water through the little window pain so you don't have to lift the top to check it . The fact that it's stainless steel is reassuring because you can clean it efficiently and be sure that it's not contaminating the water like Plastics might do. From previous experience with fountains I do know that it's very important to clean it regularly, they suggest two weeks but I'm doing it every 10 days. It's very quiet. I was worried that the plug might be an issue since it needs electricity to operate, but in fact it's not an issue at all, my cat hasn't chewed on it and it doesn't get wet so there's really no danger of the fact that it's electrical. I do keep a bowl of water on the side just in case the power goes out while I'm not home she has access to water. When the power comes back on it will start working again but you never know how long it might be out so that is a precaution I take. I'm very frugal and in my mind this is worth every penny. Aerated water is much fresher and appealing to cats and she does drink more than she used to. Evidence to this is the fact that her little turds are larger and I attribute this to a healthy water intake. Drinking more is better for her, especially considering cats have kidney issues, so fresh clean aerated water is something I can give her and feel good about. I highly recommend this product

The media could not be loaded. I ordered the cat watering fountain yesterday and it came the next day. It was packaged well, and set up was super easy. The price is great! The design is perfect , and it makes zero noise. The filters are easy to change. I like that the straw where water comes out at is also made out of steel. The water on top visible to the animal is less than half an inch deep, which I like also. The water travels down into this little slit on top and filters through and comes back out. I also like the fact that there is a little blue round LED light at the front of the tank that shows you the water level. That is so convenient because now I don’t have to lift the lid to look inside to see if I need to add water. I ordered this because my kitten loves splashing in the kitchen and bathroom sinks when the water is on. He’s figured out how to turn the faucets on and he will play in water constantly. My hope was this will deter him from doing that because one day I was at work and he had a flood in one of my bathrooms. It’s only been one day but so far he is leaving the sinks alone.

My stepcat has been suffering from constipation, so I bought this fountain to encourage him to drink more water. He always wanted to drink from the toilet or from the tub spout, which is unacceptable to me. (His bachelor dad let him do those things before we became a blended family.) I thought our boy would like the fountain because its spout is similar to our tub spout. BINGO!!! As soon as I got the fountain in place, the boy started drinking from it immediately. He drank and drank. Poop problem solved! HOWEVER… when our little princess kitty passed by the fountain, on the way to eat, she did a double take. (She wasn’t nearby when I installed the fountain, so she didn’t know it was there.) She timidly walked up to the fountain, focusing on the bright blue light that shines through the water level indicator window; she put her nose on the light, her pupils grew huge, and then she ran to hide under the bed. I turned the window to the back of the bowl, thinking that would solve the problem. The next time she went for food she approached the fountain like she might like to get to know it, but then she saw the blue light shining through the slot where the water returns from the drinking pan to the bowl. Back under the bed she went. Now when she wants to eat she carefully makes sure to walk as far away from the fountain as possible. (And of course, our little princess has to have her own “non-threatening” bowl of water.). It has been a month and she’s showing no signs of making peace with that blue light. I know our precious girl can’t be the only pet who is afraid of that “monstrous” blue light. I get that the designer probably thought that the light would help pet parents see the water level easier, but I think we would be able to manage without it. You would think the designer would have anticipated that some pets wouldn’t like the light, and that the person would have provided a way to turn off the light. They could have even offered a model that didn’t have a light. That’s why I’m taking a star from my rating. When you develop a product that scares the population you’re trying to serve you don’t deserve a 5 star rating. I would have returned the fountain if our boy wasn’t enjoying, and benefiting from, it. I personally love the fountain. I love, love, love that the pump comes out of the fountain, instead of being permanently attached to it, so I can give the bowl a thorough cleaning. The fountain is so easy to take apart, clean, and reassemble. It is also very quiet. Upon inspection during cleaning, I found that the filters did a good job of filtering hair and food debris. Since I’ve only had the fountain a little over a month I can’t speak to its durability. It appears to be well made, but I will update if anything changes. Pros: Our boy now drinks enough that he no longer gets constipated, and he no longer attempts to drink out of the toilet or the tub spout. The fountain works well, and it is easy to manage. Cons: The monstrous blue light continues to threaten our little princess kitty. (I would wish the light to stop working, but that would probably mean the pump would stop working, too)
