I ordered this ear cleaner thinking it would be good for cleaning my cat's ears following a veterinarian-applied ear mite treatment. I asked my vet for her opinion on the ingredient list of this product, and while she didn't have a direct opinion, she saw nothing detrimental in the ingredient list. An internet search came up with the same opinion. For the past couple of days, my cat has been asking me to clean his ears each morning (yes, seriously, he asks, and he is not afraid to be obnoxious about it if I'm still in bed.) Because I didn't want to interfere with the previous treatment, I only dry swabbed his ears to clean the large debris, but waited a week before using this liquid cleaner. At first I did a normal cleaning by dripping several drops into the vertical ear canal, rubbed the base of his ears, and then let him shake his head to fling the flushed liquid and debris out. He wasn't quite as happy having liquid in his ear, but it definitely cleaned out more than the dry swabs did. After that initial flush, I decided to go back to wetted swabs to sooth and clean his ears—mainly because it gave me better feedback on how much debris I was seeing on the tip of the swabs. This solution must be much more comfortable and soothing to him than the plain water I used previously, because he repeatedly comes back for repeat treatments in the morning. I swab once, he takes a break for a couple minutes, and then comes back for another. Uncanny! He comes and sits in front of my keyboard asking me to do his ears, and if I ignore him, he repeatedly knocks the bottle of cleaning solution on the floor until he sees me take out a fresh cotton swab. He watches me wet the swab with solution, and that's how he knows which bottle to knock on the floor to get my attention. With each pass, the swab comes out brown. So it is doing its job nicely. I use a fresh swab for each pass and for each ear—never reusing the same swab twice to avoid re-contamination. He remains comfortable and content until later in the day, when he asks for another. He's the smartest cat that has ever owned me.

Easy to use, instructions are clear, my cat wasn't much of a fan but it did help clean out some of the dirt out of his ear. The size of the bottle and nozzle was good for the amount that had to come out, I did wish it came with some recommend cleaning wipes instead of saying have cotton swabs or paper towel to dry out the ear. It seems pretty effective but my cats ears are still getting dirty so this has to be used multiple times (cat doesn't have mites just like to rub his head in dirty places) to get any DEEP dirt out.

As it is closer to summer than not, the heat brought with most often causes my dogs ears to itch, so when this ear cleaning solution came to my attention here? I thought I would grab to keep on hand for the upcoming ear issues. It says it is plant fueled, as opposed to the usual chemicals leading the ingredients. Thyme, & Rosemary are listed for example, it also included something called Caprylic triglyceride which I had not heard of. It turns out to be an emollient combination of coconut and glycerin and is a gentle, non greasy hydrator, good for sensitive skin. Highly refined, not from raw oils as it improves the performance in moisturizing. Good to know! The small hose design on the top of the bottle is new to me, however quite efficient as a small squeeze goes to the point when this is placed, losing less product and not making a mess by overrun. The bottle contains 14 ounces, a good portion and again, the nozzle top helps reduce spillage. The direction are as most, a certain amount in ear, cover with ear after in canal and rub in circular motion for a moment or so. Release, let the following ear shake, then follow up with cotton ball, gauze ball, what your preference is to lightly wipe inside and removes the nasty crude that if you know? You know. It does have a rather light antiseptic scent, but nothing heavy nor unpleasant, most disappear after use anyway. So far all is pretty positive as a go for the ear issue I know is coming. But one thing stoped me from happily providing a full star review, I am keeping one off until I actually have enough use of to determine the outcome. That, and a small hesitancy honestly. Not overly concerned, but I have made it a practice not to engage ion most anything for my pets that is not made in the US. NOT for any other reason than there are very different allowances made in what is allowed other than here as ingredient. Mostly a pet food or treat issue, but I have run into a few small ( nothing horrible) issues with other products related to pets. I have nothing but good vibes within all I have found out in what I did not know (aforementioned above) in ingredients, I like the new design with the little hose for direct placement, and the sect is absolutely light enough to be almost unnoticeable. But there is still just a tiny voice inside that causes me the smallest bit of carefully heard attention in concern of its origin. I have a feeling that will vanish with further, and more consistent use. But I fell better to be cautious, than to later wish you had been when it comes to anything chosen for my furry family members. Same with my children, because you never know until you wished you had paid attention just a bit more & I don't want to error in anything to do with a choice I made. But for now all seems positive, and if anything suspicious is to arrive? I will return, also? If my vibes are spot on and it works as well as I anticipate? I will return also to add the final star. You should use your own judgement or ask those knowledgeable who know more than your intuition tells you. Thank you.

Im using this on my barn cats because ear mites are a problem. It doesnt kill the mites, but it helps keep the inside of their ears cleaner and less mites have accumulated. The liquid looks like water, but has a slight soapyness to it. The direction say to insert the tube into the ear and allow a couple drops to enter the ear canal. I tried that, but the liquid drips out of the bottle very quickly and can turn into a stream if not careful, so dont squeeze the bottle. Too much liquid and pressure can hurt the inner ear. It was to hard for me to control the flow while trying to control a cat also, so I found an easier solution. Instead of inserting the tube the ear canal, i put it against the middle of the ear and just let the liquid run into the ear canal. It easily enters the deeper part of the canal by me massaging the ear right after. The liquid softens and knocks loose the crusty gunk thats deep in the ear and as the cat shakes its head, the nastiness comes out. It has worked out wonderfully and my cats aren't scratching their ears like they used too. I cant afford to take them all to the vet to get rid of the ear mites, so this is a great product to help me keep them to a bare minimum. Its much cheaper then a vet bill and it works. Im extremely happy with this cleaning solution and I know for a fact my cats are too. I highly recommend

I picked up this ear cleaner solution for my dog because he’s been struggling with itchy ears and constant scratching for about three years now. I’ve tried so many different things that only work for a little while, but this stuff actually seems to be doing the trick. When I first used it, I put the solution in his ears and let it sit for a bit before gently cleaning around the area with a Q-tip. I couldn't believe how much gunk came out—it was honestly pretty gross, but it clearly needed to come out. I did it again a couple of days later and more debris came out, and I’ve already noticed he isn't scratching nearly as much as he used to. I still have a vet appointment scheduled to make sure there isn't something more serious going on, but for right now, this is keeping him so much more comfortable. It makes me feel a lot better seeing him get some relief from that constant irritation. The thyme scent is a nice touch too, since it helps deodorize while it cleans. I forgot to mention the little rubber thing on the top makes it a lot easier to get into his ear..

And does it well! The VUNCAREPLUS Cat and Dog Ear Cleaner Solution does a very nice job of helping clean my cat's ears. The soft nozzle really helps when applying, too. I really like that it's all-natural as it makes me feel comfortable using it on my pet.
