I bought one of these (from Home Depot) over two years ago, and it worked so well I wanted a second one for another interior door. (I agree with other reviewers that it's a bit flimsy for an exterior door.) After reading the reviews here, I worried that maybe they weren't as good as they were a few years ago. But I really wanted the doors to match, so I risked it. This one is exactly the same as the other one, including the instructions. Although it did help to have a second set of hands, I did most of it by myself. I thought the instructions were clear enough, especially if you read them all the way through before starting. My only 2 complaints, are #1 that the piece that connects the front to the back is clear, rather than white. With clear, you can see into the hollow core door and I wish it was white so you couldn't. But I wouldn't want to pay more for it, and I don't really notice it any more, it only bothered me when I was first admiring my work. :-) Also, when you turn the dials to lock/unlock the door, they're kind of loud. Also, even though I messed up the hole in the door, the frame is wide enough to cover a multitude of errors. :-) Lastly, I paid my own money for this at full price, I didn't receive any discounts for my review or anything like that. :-) ... show more

    • I'm happy with the purchase.
I needed to replace just the door for my cat-window panel. I had this brand before, but the cat-flap was broken. I ordered this to replace just the flap, and my neighbor installed this fairly easily (he needed a 2nd pair of hands to hold it in place). The door flap itself seems sturdy.
