  • Good things have finally came, to those of us who waited...
The Casiris A6 is my fifth projector. I have been a home theater projector devotee since DLP became affordable with the InFocus X1 back in the mid 2000's. My much loved X1 died after two lamps and thousands of movie hours years ago. I went a few years sans projector and started backup with a small PICO DLP projector then moved to a HD Optoma 142x and then to my first UST the Optoma GT5600....all served well. In recent year the traditional flat panel TVs came and went and we now have two 4K UHD TVs in service, in bedroom and den. Getting use to 4k viewing longed for a 4K UHD projector...for over four years. When it comes to home theater I am a early adopter with affordable units. All my projectors were discounted and technology that was proven in more expensive models years prior. The last two were refurbished units. So needless to say I am extremely price conscious. My choice of media source is the NVIDIA TV Shield line. (still a great value as top of the line media streamer). The Receiver in main living room big screen theater is a Onkyo TX-NR676 7.1. The older receiver was 4K ready and has had regular firmware updates five years on, now finally the hub of my 4K UHD theater. I collected BLu-Ray discs of my favorite movies adding 4K UHD titles in anticipationof eventually having a 4K home theater. That day finally arrived when the A6 arrived, triple boxed...btw. Setup is easy for UST initiated. If you are new to UST setup watch YT videos about the process. In a nutshell, get everything square and as level as you can, to the throw specs of your projector, down to the millimeter if possible. Software corrections you make with point correction or keystone should be done as a last resort as they put strain on processing the image at the cost of total pixels. When it comes to image, for me, I don't fuss about color calibration much, I try basic settings using the K.I.S.S. principle. The TV shield feeds the A6 well. Gig optic fiber internet, TV Shield Pro, new HDMI high speed cables, 4K UHD streaming is effortless. The image the Casiris A6 delivers is stunning out of the box, with minimal fussing. I set most settings to STANDARD in the easy to use interface and and spent an hour or so physically tweaking position of the unit so the image to fit my 100" ALR screen. Minimal software image adjustment was needed, One small tweak to one of the dots. I turned off MEMC as I don't care for it for movies. Contrast, brightness, acuity, color rendition is heads above my past projectors and is rendering UHD content better than my 4K flat panel TVs! IN this case size definitely matters. The 100" diagonal 4K UHD image is simply stunning. Streaming 4K UHD content from the major services all was flawless in presentation and the NVIDIA TV Shield Pro shows why it is a favorite. I will update this review after more watching hours but first impressions are that I am very satisfied with the sleek A6. If you are just starting out, with careful shopping, ALR screens can be found under $500, 7.1 setups can be had for under $1500 making the entire system, around the cost of a typical 4K UHD laser projector (still running well over $3K) For budget projector fans, good things have come to those who waited. It looks like 2024 will likely be the year many enter the "LASER Television" realm with ALR screen and UST 4K projectors, this projector is definitely setting the value performance standard by milking the best image possible from a proven and affordable DLP technology. The three laser light source is brilliant engineering. 11/27 Update - Did some color adjustments. Settled on User settings, adjusted the while point, dialing back green. Turned MPEG off, noise reduction off, MEMC off, boosting bright to 60 and contrast to 55. Keeping dynamic contrast on. Very satisfied with the results. ... show more

  • Update: Love it!! (Wanted to Love it but Image Quality Issues)
UPDATE: changing my review from two stars to five stars. we returned the initial unit and not only received a new unit but a bit of a credit for our trouble from Casiris, which we appreciated. most importantly, this new unit is fabulous! It’s super bright during the day, has a great picture, good sound, etc. Original Review…We’ve been looking for a new projector for the past two months. I’ve tried a few on Amazon and none have worked because our screen is at a slight angle. The projectors that claim to be able to handle angles are blurry. So we got this short throw projector and love how bright it is and how close it is to the projector so we really wanted to keep it. But there is a red shadow or halo around images, especially around letters. Contacted Casiris and they want us to send back this projector and wait for them to send us a replacement. We are not comfortable doing that and asked that they send us the replacement first and we will send back the original projector once we receive it, as that is how replacements via Amazon work. But for some reason they do not want us to go through Amazon but want us to go through them directly. I’ll update with the final outcome. ... show more

  • BEST TRIPLE LASER
Casiris A6 ultra short projector is the best projector i have ever own. True and realistic colors and great Atmos sound which surrounds and completes your viewing experience but dolby vision would have placed the icing on the cake. What i like most about this device is the fact that it doesn't come with any operating system giving the user/owner the flexibility of customizing it with a streming device of his/her choice. There are only two issuses i have, one, to view 3D content you need get an special remote from the manufacturer and secondly it gives a very bright display but very little control to lessen on the brightness. ... show more

  • Update: 8/1/23 I want to really like this projector...but
I think I might have received a defective unit. I'm trying really hard to like this projector, but it just doesn't seem to want to happen. I really like the brightness. It's really good, even for ambient lighting, it doesn't even faze it. But straight out of the box, there was too much blue to it. The black seems to look washed out, because it has a blue haze to it. And the red, it almost pops. The colors are good, but they're too intense (think of dynamic display on a tv. Exaggerated). After adjusting settings, i get it to almost exactly where it should be, as far as color, brightness, contrast settings. Then when I go to watch something else, it's like someone changed the settings. I look through all of them, and they are the same. None have changed. This happens EVERY SINGLE TIME!! Very annoying to say the least. At one point, all I did was change the channel, I didn't even change the source feeding the video and you can clearly see where there is something wrong with it. Because one side will look good with the settings I adjusted, and the other side seems to want to change and move over to take over the whole screen. Now, I'm no expert on projectors, but I'm pretty sure this behaviour is not normal. If I'm good adjusting my settings, and watching a show for example, and a commercial comes on, the commercial looks like crap. Like I changed the settings again. I don't understand that. If I turn off the projector, and come back later, or the next day to turn it on, it looks as if the settings were completely changed!! Very frustrating and annoying!! I have tried everything, and it doesn't seem to make a difference. I have a VAVA single laser UST, and it's been great since I purchased it. And the colors look great and settings seem to stick, and I haven't had similar problems with it. It is also pretty bright and I'm just about to give up on this Casiris. I went through Amazon customer service and asked for a replacement, and they said they could not. The only thing they could do, was refund me my money so that I may purchase it again. One problem, I bought on primeday, and it was discounted $500. So if I get a refund, I'll be $500 short, so I won't be able to purchase it at that price. I'm not going to pay $500 dollars, and it may turn out, that's how they all are. Please, someone, help. I really want to like This projector, but it's becoming impossible. Does anyone have any settings that will work? Or is there something that needs to be done so this won't keep happening. I updated it as soon as I was able to connect to wifi. Maybe that was a mistake. Or has anyone experienced the same problem? I believe I factory reset...and still didn't solve my problem. I can use any help. Any help would be appreciated. If not, I'm afraid I may have to return this unit, and go with the tried and true VAVA laser UST. 8/1/23 So Team CASIRIS reached out to me and has been communicating with me, trying to help me. After explaining my dilemma, they worked with me, have been extremely patient and are trying their best to get things to my satisfaction. I returned the original unit for a refund, and purchased another at the refund price I received. They are sending me out another brand new unit, and I'm hoping and praying that I may have received a defective unit initially. Will update again once I receive the item and get to use it. If the all the units are the same, I may just return it and take a break before purchasing any other unit. But just on communication alone, and customer service, I'll probably change my rating to 5 stars, on just those two things alone. Even if I don't end up happy with the product. This type of service, is top notch! Very few and far in between with companies now a days. Thank you Team CASIRIS! ... show more
