  • Good things have finally came, to those of us who waited...
Color: A6
The Casiris A6 is my fifth projector. I have been a home theater projector devotee since DLP became affordable with the InFocus X1 back in the mid 2000's. My much loved X1 died after two lamps and thousands of movie hours years ago. I went a few years sans projector and started backup with a small PICO DLP projector then moved to a HD Optoma 142x and then to my first UST the Optoma GT5600....all served well. In recent year the traditional flat panel TVs came and went and we now have two 4K UHD TVs in service, in bedroom and den. Getting use to 4k viewing longed for a 4K UHD projector...for over four years. When it comes to home theater I am a early adopter with affordable units. All my projectors were discounted and technology that was proven in more expensive models years prior. The last two were refurbished units. So needless to say I am extremely price conscious. My choice of media source is the NVIDIA TV Shield line. (still a great value as top of the line media streamer). The Receiver in main living room big screen theater is a Onkyo TX-NR676 7.1. The older receiver was 4K ready and has had regular firmware updates five years on, now finally the hub of my 4K UHD theater. I collected BLu-Ray discs of my favorite movies adding 4K UHD titles in anticipationof eventually having a 4K home theater. That day finally arrived when the A6 arrived, triple boxed...btw. Setup is easy for UST initiated. If you are new to UST setup watch YT videos about the process. In a nutshell, get everything square and as level as you can, to the throw specs of your projector, down to the millimeter if possible. Software corrections you make with point correction or keystone should be done as a last resort as they put strain on processing the image at the cost of total pixels. When it comes to image, for me, I don't fuss about color calibration much, I try basic settings using the K.I.S.S. principle. The TV shield feeds the A6 well. Gig optic fiber internet, TV Shield Pro, new HDMI high speed cables, 4K UHD streaming is effortless. The image the Casiris A6 delivers is stunning out of the box, with minimal fussing. I set most settings to STANDARD in the easy to use interface and and spent an hour or so physically tweaking position of the unit so the image to fit my 100" ALR screen. Minimal software image adjustment was needed, One small tweak to one of the dots. I turned off MEMC as I don't care for it for movies. Contrast, brightness, acuity, color rendition is heads above my past projectors and is rendering UHD content better than my 4K flat panel TVs! IN this case size definitely matters. The 100" diagonal 4K UHD image is simply stunning. Streaming 4K UHD content from the major services all was flawless in presentation and the NVIDIA TV Shield Pro shows why it is a favorite. I will update this review after more watching hours but first impressions are that I am very satisfied with the sleek A6. If you are just starting out, with careful shopping, ALR screens can be found under $500, 7.1 setups can be had for under $1500 making the entire system, around the cost of a typical 4K UHD laser projector (still running well over $3K) For budget projector fans, good things have come to those who waited. It looks like 2024 will likely be the year many enter the "LASER Television" realm with ALR screen and UST 4K projectors, this projector is definitely setting the value performance standard by milking the best image possible from a proven and affordable DLP technology. The three laser light source is brilliant engineering. 11/27 Update - Did some color adjustments. Settled on User settings, adjusted the while point, dialing back green. Turned MPEG off, noise reduction off, MEMC off, boosting bright to 60 and contrast to 55. Keeping dynamic contrast on. Very satisfied with the results. ... show more

  • Exceptional projector even in daylight.
The media could not be loaded. Exceptional Daytime Performance with the Casiris Omnistar L80 I recently purchased the Casiris Omnistar L80 and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations. The picture quality is outstanding, offering vibrant colors and sharp images that truly enhance my viewing experience. One of the standout features of this projector is its brightness. Rated at 1500 ANSI lumens, it delivers a bright and clear image even in the daytime. This is a game-changer for me as it allows for versatile usage of the projector at any time of the day. The auto-focus and auto-correct features are also impressive. They work seamlessly to provide a crisp, well-aligned image without any manual adjustments. This is a huge time-saver and adds to the overall ease of use. The built in speaker works so well I do not use my soundba, so if you was thinking of getting a soundbar I believe you should try without as it is not needed in my opinion. While I do use xbox and fire cube the built-in wifi connection works well I use the other connections for easy connection to home camera system through Alexa on fire cube and gaming on xbox. In conclusion, the Casiris OmniStar L80 offers great value for its price. It combines excellent picture quality, high brightness, and convenient features to deliver a top-notch viewing experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone in search of a reliable and high-performing projector. Chris. ... show more

  • Solid Full size Projector with excellent audio and video at a great price!
Projector video quality is superior to the other budget projects my family has used for watching streaming services. Massively brighter, excellent auto calibration, very solid sound, better then any other projector I have ever used. Comparable to 1K branded projectors that I have used in my job with better audio. I docked one star as the built in app stores did not have apps that worked properly for Youtube, Disney, and Apple. The vendor was aware and recommended getting a stick streaming device, we are going to utilize Apple TV box for fast responsive apps. The unit also has Ethernet multiple inputs, and a large power brick but no mounting hardware. I found a budget mount that we are going to use to get this off a temp table that was used for testing. Its fairly large and weighs about 10 lbs but the value for money is unquestionable. Very happy with the purchase. At bellow 200$ I don't think you find a better setup. My son has purchased 50-100 buck mini projectors and those are terrible compared to this machine. I have had name brands that were not as bright. Image resolution is 1080P which means solid video output 1080 maps well for 4K content and even though we are testing with 100" projector screen looks solid with bright colors, not washed out like the other projectors we have tried. It can also go up to a massive 200" screen. ... show more

  • Poor quality
The 1500 ansi lumes is great and the video quality too, but after 2 weeks it started to have a yellow spot showing in the white color.
