I do recommend that you watch the casabrews YouTube videos if your new to espresso machines. This is my second machine so I did not watch the intros but watched the maintenance video. Too small and not looks professional. Cheap plastic tools included. Not get to 15 bars pressure no matter what I do. Not taste as expected. Less flavour than my $50 machine. Wasted my time to return and very slow refund.

Overall this machine makes great coffee. It is simple to use and straightforward. The steamer works well, the grinder, well, it grinds the beans to whatever setting you choose, and the machine pushes water through those beans well. There are a couple things about it that could have been better designed, but they aren't showstoppers. The lever used to select how coarse the grind is gets in the way of the filter holder handle when putting putting it in the machine. It isn't a problem if you are grinding something finer than the "8" on the grind scale. The other thing, and maybe it is user error, is there is always a bit of standing water on top of the puck after making espresso. I had to experiment a bit to get the machine to stay in the "green zone" for pressure. It was a little frustrating watching the needle barely move, or shoot up into the "over pressure" zone. The frustration might have actually been me being jittery after drinking four or five double shots while trying to get the grind and tamping pressure right.... In all it is a good machine. There are a couple things I would have designed a little differently, but it does work well and makes great espresso. ... show more

    • All hope was dashed!
I had heard such good things about this machine especially for the price point. Given that my more expensive machine did not have the longevity the price suggested it would, I was hopeful Casabrews was a good option! Quality wise, it was majorly lacking. 1. Portafilter and tamper felt extremely cheap and light weight 2. Hopper also felt cheap with lots of plastic. 3. You have to hold the grinder in to grind. 4. Portafilter does not fit into the group head easily. You have to use a bit of strength to anchor the machine as you tighten the portafilter. 5. You have to time your shots. Which isn’t a deal breaker but something to consider. I could have overlooked a lot of this if the machine had actually worked longer than 30 minutes. No lie! While attempting to pull a decent shot, the grinder stopped grinding! We decided to remove the grinder per instructions, which were WRONG by the way. A YouTube video confirmed that. After removing and reinstalling we attempted grinding again. At which point the entire grinder fell apart! I knew we’d be taking a step down in quality but the price was worth it for a close stand in. But to not even work to pull the first shot? Run! Run far away! ... show more
