10/2025 I just received this set of Carote nonstick pots and pans as a free trial. I first learned of the Carote brand from a friend this past summer. She was very happy with their performance and recommended them to me. I needed some new pots and pans for my camper since I started using an induction cooktop inside and outside when I have electricity.. Anyway the set I had was not magnetic and wouldn’t work with the induction cooktop. I ended up ordering a two piece set on sale to try in my camper. They worked great with both propane and the induction cooktop. They heated up evenly and quickly with no sticking . They also cleaned up very easily. I figured I’d try this full set at home with more regular use. So far I am very pleased. The pots and pans are very light weight yet a fairly thick construction. The aluminum titanium alloy makes for the super light weight compared to other types of pots and pans. There is a thick rim around the top edge which helps prevent denting or causing drops to deform the pot or pan. This thick rim also aids in supporting the lids. There is also a thin alloy plate on the bottom of these which helps in heat dispersion and allows these to work with induction tops despite being mostly aluminum. My two black ones have more use than this new white set but still look new. It’s hard to tell if there is any food staining with those dark ones. These off white ones only have a little use and still look new. I’m not sure if they’ll still look that way after cooking with some red sauce after a while. The detachable handles are kind of neat. They simply clamp on and have a push button lock release. They have an extremely tight grip just as if they were permanently mounted. That top rim around the pots and pans prevents the handle from only getting a partial grip. You can’t lock the handle on unless it’s fully seated. This also makes storing leftovers easier by simply removing the handle when placing in the fridge. Now you don’t need as much space to refrigerate. This removeable handle also makes storing easy as all pieces stack neatly requiring less space.You can also easily place these in the dishwasher without the handle protruding. This set has a weird handle on the lids which I haven’t adjusted to yet. They are designed as stands so that you can stand the lids on edge. It also is a little odd reaching over the lid to grab a handle to remove. My other Carote set has a simple knob on top of the lids. I don’t think I’d stand the lids on edge when cooking as grease and food can run down and onto the counter. Still not sure about that design feature (my pictures show them installed backwards with the handle facing out. I fixed them so they work like a stand but didn’t update my pictures). If you get these on sale, which it looks like they’re doing recently, they are a great deal! If you get them at their normal price I still think it’s a decent deal. I’m very happy with them and would recommend them. I’ll update this review after a little more use and let you know how they are holding up as far as staining and nonstick performance.

Benefits of this Style of Pan: If you're new to removable handles, here are some benefits; Space saving in storage since the handles don't get in the way, and because they stack better. That storage space also applies to ovens and dishwashers, I can typically fit three or even four of this type of pan in my oven, compared to only two for traditional handle pans. You can also use multiple handles to get a more secure grip for odd loads. Cooking Evenness: I did a few bake tests in the oven to see how even the cooking plates are. After baking cornbread, a genoise sponge cake, and even cookies in a calibrated oven, I can say they passed wonderfully, with no hot or cool spots on the bottom. It's not an all-clad pan, so don't expect amazing sides, but the sides did come out great regardless in these test bakes. I wasn't testing the non-stick for this test, so I did use oil/flour. Non-Stick: I did six egg cooking runs, two eggs each time, spread across two of the pans without any oils. The eggs slid out perfectly fine each time, with only a few leftover crumbs left behind. I also did a run of pancakes afterward, which had great results, although they had oil in the batter that could have helped. Storage: When the pots are stacked together, with the anti-scratch pads, they are roughly 7 inches high; This can go up to around 10 inches depending on how centered the pads are. Without the pads they are about 5 inches high. You can keep the handles in the top pot. The lids are a nightmare to store due to their handles sticking out so far and being just long enough to be annoying. Grip and Handle Security: This pan set stands out from the three other removable-handle designs I've used in the past, with a massive upgrade in handle locking strength. Unlike other brands I've tested, these handles connect with a solid feel, just like a permeant screwed-in handle. The lever-release mechanism is far better than the more standard button release; it requires a deliberate action to release. This is a considerable upgrade from the thumb-press buttons found on my other sets, I always had a fear I was going to press the button when I was applying extra grip for heavy items for those old sets. However, just like any other set, you can attach two handles for extra security for sloshing stocks and wobbling roasts. Although, I do dislike the lids due to their handles. They stick out just long enough to be annoying for storage, but not long enough to feel comfortable or secure in the handle when removing them; It's the worst of all worlds. If they're thinking about further innovative designs, I hope they consider a magnetically attached handle or simply just a nub.
