I own about 9 pairs of Rugged Flex Loose Fit pants, lined or unlined, since I discovered this brand last year talking with a contractor who did our geothermal project. I was overjoyed to find the most comfortable & flattering work pants until about a months ago when I started ordering more of them for my mother who wears the same size - I received pants that are much tighter in the area of the bottom and thighs, regardless where the orders were placed (Amazon or the brand’s official website). I was very puzzled and determined to figure out why. After looking at the tags carefully I realized that the country of origin makes all the difference! The normal ones are made in Vietnam, the tighter ones, in India.

Review from my wife: I would size down, these fit very generously. I can wear long underwear under these which is great if you really need to be in the cold. They are very soft and cozy inside but definitely wide leg. Unfortunately the size two are big so I will have to alter them. I don't usually have this issue with size 2, but this is my first Carhart purchase so maybe they generally run big. I tried boys lined Carhart's but the Women's are definitely a better style, I wish they made a Size 0. One additional comment: the pants are not flexible, meaning no stretch. I find that they pull a little over the knees when bending, especially with the long underwear.

I bought the black and the grey ones and they do keep me warm. I’m currently in Colorado and the temp with wind chill is -22 and my legs are at least cozy. But the fit is more for a man than a woman. But I can live with that!

I love the fabric and lining. These pants are super comfy in that respect and nice and warm. I ordered the relaxed fit to be sure I could wear an underlayer when it’s really cold, but these pants are too roomy for me. The waist band is good - ordering a size smaller would’ve made the waist band too tight - but the hips & legs are really big. They’re not flattering, but I’m keeping them for all the other reasons and feel confident I’ll stay warm in the coldest weather.

These carhartt insulated pants have a very soft thick fleece lining. They’re cozy & warm- I love ‘em. Personally I think they run a bit big. I’m 5’7” 122lbs. I usually wear a pants size 4. I got a size 2 and a size 4 - the 2 fit perfectly. The style isn’t baggy but is loose, there’s room for a thermal layer if you want. The waist sits on the natural waist (not low rise) and is the tightest point- not loose. The inseam is fine for me but would probably be too long if you’re under 5’4”.
