  • This is so useful!
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I bought this for my mom a few years ago and it worked great! It helped her move from sitting to standing. I ended up buying a total of two so that she could sit in any chair she wanted and not have to carry this herself from seat to seat.

  • Worthless
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
It is a well constructed product. However it is poorly thought out and poorly engineered. It is intended for frail or handicapped people to use, but is impossible for them to manipulate. It may be OK if you have a full time servant with you to open and close your cushion for you. Total waste of time and money. ... show more

  • Life changer!
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
This uplift chair lift is a life changer for my husband! Being unable to get out of a chair due to poor leg strength left my husband dependent on his family members for everything. Now all he has to do is get himself started out of the chair and he can get to the kitchen for a snack or to the bathroom, or even to the family room to watch TV without assistance. It has really helped his ego too. He loves being more independent. He has it on a chair with casters on carpet and it works just fine. Our carpet is thick. No worries that the chair will move and be a disaster. It could be a problem on surfaces such as wood floors, indoor/outdoor thin carpet or vinyl and casters on the chair. He says it's not quite as comfortable as the upholstered chair he has been using, but he has no real problem with that aspect. This morning I was very surprised when he appeared at my office door which is down several stairs without any assistance from our son. A life changer for all of us! ... show more

  • Works as advertised - use with caution
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
Item was received in poor condition with stains underneath the cover and a strong mildew smell. We tested it and it works. I think it will be very useful so I am returning for a replacement. PROS: -Works as advertised; takes a little getting used to.. when you sit, there is a pause and you start to slowly sink until your body weight passes the point of resistance then you quickly sink the rest of the way which is ok once you know what to expect -The cover IS waterproof even though it doesn’t look like it and it’s not some hot, sticky uncomfortable rubbery material. I tested it by placing toilet paper under the cover and pouring water on the seat. The toilet paper remained dry, even after pressing on it to simulate someone sitting on it while wet. I will still place a barrier between the cover and cushion in case of leaks bc the cushion material seems like it would be difficult to get stains and smells out. CONS: -Heavier than expected and awkward to carry with you everywhere, but, if you need it, you need it -It has quite a bit of “thrust” when standing. I’m 42yo and fully able to stand on my own & it unbalanced me a little first time. I understand this is what it’s supposed to do so this is just a warning for the elderly or anyone with balance issues. Be careful. I found setting the weight limit lower than suggested helped. My 74yo MIL is 5’11” 174lbs and the “160lb” setting was too much. I adjusted to “130” and it’s much better. -It’s hard to set.. it requires a little bit of upper body strength to bend the seat as needed to set it up. I guess anyone who needs it would probably have assistance. However, if an elderly person purchased it to aid a spouse, they might need help with the initial setup. Then they could just transport it in the set up position rather than flattening it to travel. A minor inconvenience. -It makes the seat rather high. Anyone who is a little shorter might have some difficulty unless the seat you place it in is on the lower side bc you need to get your weight toward the back of the seat in order for it to “sink”. Again.. lowering the weight setting helps with this, but that decreases the amount of lift assistance you get when standing. Overall, it’s a great product. It will help me bc I won’t have to lift my very tall MIL out of lower seats. Plus I won’t have to place a pad underneath her everywhere we go to guard against leaking.. this is much less obvious :) ... show more

  • The lifting concept of this standing assist is a great idea. I need help to get up out ...
The lifting concept of this standing assist is a great idea. I need help to get up out of a chair but I don't think this is the solution for me. I have Parkinson's Disease and balance issues. Normally when I sit down, I "plop" down! And I don't always end up in the center of the seat. The type of chair you use is critical--it must be stable and secure. The seat would sometimes wobble when I sat down which would put me in unbalanced mode. However, the pneumatic lift worked just fine and seat was not uncomfortable. ... show more

  • Thank goodness!
This has given me back my freedom to go to restaurants, movies, and concerts! My knee replacements {rheumatoid arthritis) have accumulated a lot of scar tissue, and my poor knees just don't bend anymore. Talk about crimping my style! My social life was nonexistent... for the sole reason that I couldn't get up out of a normal height chair! This device is a miracle. You set it up by standing it on the front end, pushing down on the back edge of the seat and moving the hydraulic arm into the right position for your weight. It's actually quite easy with a little practice, but it does require some pressure. Then you just put it on any chair with the lip hanging over the front edge and sit down on it. Your weight presses it flat but as soon as you lean forward and push up on the armrests... up you go, nice and easy! It is very well made and they even put non-slip rubber on the bottom to keep it in place and protect your furniture. The whole seat is covered with a 2" memory foam pad which wraps around all sides and makes it very, very comfortable. It is portable in that you can easily carry it into a restaurant or theater, but at around 10 lbs. it's a bit heavy to lug around if you are walking any distance. The weight seems to be necessary as the device is very solidly made and sturdy. The one thing I would add is a shoulder strap, or a place to connect one. I think it is advisable to "uncock" the hydraulic arm and store it flat, because if you left it set up all the time it would shorten the life span of the hydraulic arm. The cover is little tricky to put back on until you remember that, like everything else, the tag goes in the back! ... show more
