First, the bed frame arrives in two boxes, and one of them is 75lbs+ so you will need a second person to help move the boxes around and put it together! When the boxes arrived, they arrived separately and both looked like they had been walked on and had boot prints all over them. The ends were damaged and I was very worried that the bed frame would be unusable and need to be returned. When we opened it up, it was very well packaged and there was only a minor bend on one of the corner metal connectors that was easily straightened. Installation was very simple, but for the California king size you will want a second person to help maneuver things into place. There are lots of wood slats that fit into place quickly and keep the mattress well supported. We have a VERY heavy spring coil mattress and there’s no wobble or sagging at all. I would recommend getting rubber pads for the feet if you have wood floors. There are actually 8 legs on this frame, each long middle beam has two solid and large legs. All 8 legs have small plastic feet on the bottom but they didn’t seem to be enough protection so I bought rubber pads. That also keeps the frame from moving and sliding around. For what I paid, this is an AMAZING bed frame. I love the look, how solid it is, and the height for my mattress is perfect without a box spring. We’ve been sleeping on it for two months now and it’s perfect.

Having just set up my bed today, here's what I like about it thus far: Solid wood on the sides--looks nice Very simple to assemble and quick (took my husband and I maybe 20 minutes?) Supports are stronger than I thought they were looking at the picture Stain is dark, but nice Made in USA Seller is competent...responded quickly to my initial email question about order fulfillment (Amazon had failed to fulfill this order so had to re-order through seller and was confirming I wouldn't run into problems) Delivery was as promised, no delays Although we are not using box springs to elevate our mattress, it is an option should we ever wish to raise the bed Cons? None (except that the low profiles totes I planned to store under the bed are too tall...bummer...but still no regrets here.) I expect this bed will support our new latex mattress well. Should I find otherwise I will update this review but I can't tell that's not likely.

Choice Queen, Walnut. Not as medium brown as pictured. A bit darker and more matte stain. Delivery Arrived in one week from the order date. The 103 pound box was too heavy to move by myself, so I opened the box in the lobby downstairs and took the pieces up to my apartment in batches. Given the size and weight, a return was unlikely unless absolutely necessary. Why Buy It is an all wood bed without a metal support beam in the middle (which has been known to warp and destroy people's floors). It is sturdy and easy to assemble/disassemble (which is key for young people who move often). I had a $80 coupon that significantly reduced the price. Cost: $358 (no tax, free shipping). Pre-Assembly I wrapped the ends of the unfinished wood support pieces in masking tape to prevent squeaking, chipping, and to ensure a snug fit. This is tedious, but worth it in the long run. I took breaks when I became bored. Also tape the ends of the middle support beam and the inside groove of the two middle support legs. It'll make for a quieter, more secure bed. After this, assembly is a breeze. Assembly Time: 10-15 minutes. The wooden frame may not want to hook in easily at first, but stay with it and make sure the corners are neatly aligned. They will hook in. As for screwing the middle support legs into the middle, I found those legs to be wider than the bean itself. There was a gap even after everything was screwed in and the middle legs were still a bit moveable. Not overly concerned as they are meant for additional support, if needed. Damage/Irregularities (Three photos included.) 1) Noticeable, sizable cosmetic chipping on two of the external bed frame pieces. 2) I also noticed a deep crack in the wood corner where one bed frame hooks in. I hope there aren't structural problems in the future. 3) Some of the support slats had irregular edges and benefitted from getting wrapped in masking tape. One bar was so irregular it never really fit flush into any slot, so I put it on an edge closest to the external bed frame where it wouldn't receive as much stress compared to the middle.

Updated: the seller heard my complaints and they were very easy to work with. The made suggestions for a fix but ultimately gave me a refund at my request. Their customer service is excellent. UPDATED: After putting it all together, it is unstable and un usable. Slats falling out on one side because they were cut too short. The center legs are not snug even after tightening the bolts and the whole frame wiggles around, slats falling all over. I am now in the process of getting a RETURN/REFUND. What a hassle. I had to drive a far ways to pick this up, because I live rurally, and the box was very heavy so this whole thing is now a big inconvenient mess The "almond" color is not as shown. It should be called "honey" or "amber". It's VERY amber toned. I'm not pleased but I need a frame and don't have the time or energy to do a return. I also think it's a waste to do returns for superficial reasons. I suggest they adjust their photo. See photo: What I received is on top and what was advertised is on the bottom. Kind of a bummer for the $$$
