    • I feel like I'm missing something
So, I've read the directions a few times, and the only way I've personally found the read the detector is to press the reset button. Otherwise the screen is off. That being said. The blinking light tells me that the detector is actively measuring and I have it mounted at a central location in my house and have not had any alerts from it yet which is a good thing. ... show more

It was impossible to get the back off to access battery compartment or to use the mounting bracket. Either the instructions were for a different product or the units I received were mistakenly sealed during manufacture. Totally worthless product.

    • It has an annoying blinking strobe light to bother you throughout the day and night.

It has a quite annoying blinking strobe light that flashes filling a room with a very bright light numerous times every few minutes. It is quite startling. I put some black tape over the light and that helps but entirely.

I purchased this carbon Monoxide detector to replace the old one in my Camper trailer. This is a big upgrade vs. the old one. You can view the PPM reading which is nice, and 3 AAA batteries is easy to keep around as a backup. I really like how compact it is, about half the size of my old one and looks much nicer. I haven't actually tested it, but I would expect it will work fine and does provide readings so I assume it's doing the job.     • Mounting instructions are a bit incorrect. Functionality is good
I don't have an incense stick handy, which is the best way to test the effectiveness of a carbon monoxide detector. I will update this review when I am able to do this. This CO detector is generally good, and has mostly clear English-language instructions except for one glaring exception: the mounting instructions are written for a different product! It describes a twist-on mounting bracket that is not included. Instead, the battery compartment door has two (countersunk) screw holes, so you mount the battery door to the ceiling (or wall) and then slide the CO detector onto the battery door and click it into place. This is a bit difficult to do because of the tight detentes of the battery door, but it works. You just need to remember which way this thing comes off because in a few years when the batteries die, you're going to twist it like any other smoke detector and you might damage the battery door and then it's going to be a fat pain to mount again. Otherwise it's pretty simple to use and the instructions are clear on where to (and where NOT to) mount it for best effect. ... show more

So far this has been working good. It was pretty small so I didn't have a hard time putting it where I wanted to and was simple to install. I even took it out and stuck it behind the exhaust pipe on my vehicle to test it and it went off within a second of the vehicle starting. The battery is still good ... show more
