  • Great Uke for the Money
Color: All Solid Acacia Electric Tenor
As most reviewers have said, this ukulele is a great value for the money. To get a solid wood ukulele for $119 is unheard of. I'm a uke nerd and have at least a dozen ukuleles from inexpensive to insanely expensive. I was impressed with the quality of the build for the money. The accessories are a nice touch, especially if you're new to ukes. The gig bag will prevent scratches, but don't expect it to protect the uke from a fall or bad handling. Out of the box, the sound was good. The projection and sustain were less than I'm used to, so I changed the strings to a set of low-G Uke Logics and the change was amazing. Much louder and great sustain across all strings. The low G sounds good with the exaggerated tenor body design. Plugged it into my amp with no effects and it presents a good representative acoustic uke sound. Overall, excellent ukulele for a beginner, good basic uke for a more experienced player - and it won't break the bank. Great job by the Carmel folks. ... show more

  • UKE Got To Be Kidding. WOW
Color: All Solid Acacia Electric Tenor
I am new to the world of Ukelele, but I have been playing guitar for more than 30 years. Only 3 weeks ago I decided I wanted to learn to play Ukulele. I devoured the internet and youtube wanting to know as much as possible about my upcoming purchase. I decided to go with the Flight, Victoria as my very first Uke. It is by no means a cheap Ukulele for a start-up but I wanted a good first-hand experience with the instrument. I was quite happy with the purchase UNTIL A few days ago I saw the Caramel tenor, all solid Acacia, on Amazon, at a price that was a quarter of the Flight Victoria. I purchased it and received it yesterday and I had to write this review. Upon opening the Caramel box, I couldn't believe how beautiful the Ukulele is. I could really see the care and love that went into making this Uke. It is presented with Pride. This is a perfect Uke to learn on but it's an absolute keeper as well. I'm learning that many Ukes are quite overpriced and overrated. The Caramel, in my opinion is totally underrated. It's a good step above the Flight Victoria, which gets very favorable reviews by the online reviewers. Is it possible these reviewers don't know about the Caramel? I guess in some cases these are stores who only review what they carry. I've decided to make the Caramel my main Uke and the Flight my "other" Uke. This is no knock on the Flight Victoria I was happy with the purchase but happier that I discovered the Caramel at an amazing price and a step up in sound. I'm certain that I will likely upgrade again but I will always hang on to the Caramel. The Caramel CT204 is a MUST HAVE if you are starting off and want to have a really nice experience with an instrument. It has a pickup, onboard tuner and comes with many accessories and a nice pouch to carry them in. Kudos to the folks at Caramel for making it possible to have such a nice instrument at an incredible price. I hope more and more Ukulele lovers and those interested in learning to play this wonderful instrument will discover you as well. I'm going to give the Caramel Baritone a try next. ... show more

  • AWESOME UKE
Color: Glossy Zebrawood Ac/Elec Tenor
Outstanding! This Uke is worth so much more than I paid for it. My daighter is a real pro, and she says it plays like a dream. I was worried that such an economical UKE would have a cheap pickup, but this little baby has amazingly good sound. It is a beautiful instrument and there is absolutely nothing I can find wrong with it at all. Set up was perfect out of the box. NICE JOB Caramel! ... show more

  • Great value for a decent uke!
Color: All Solid Acacia Electric Tenor
A nice basic tenor ukulele with all-solid acacia for this price? Hel-yea! Just know you’re not getting a Kamaka and let go of expectations for a dream ukulele - just be content that this is comfy to play, has an onboard pickup and tuner and will like warm up with time. I use it on the job as a singing chaplain and don’t worry if it gets bumped or bruised. Medium sound and tone. Aloha and God bless! ... show more

  • Great Uke at an Incredible Price! (and not just for beginners)
Color: Ebony Electric Tenor
This is my 5th ukulele. It's the least expensive (I couldn't resist the $99 price), but it's now the one I'm playing and enjoying the most. I seriously don't think you could find another real wood tenor ukulele under $200-$300 that can match this one's appearance, sound, and playability. That alone would be enough to make this an incredible deal at $99, but on top of that you're getting an electric uke with a built-in tuner (very accurate and easy to read by the way), AND accessories including a decent soft case and strap, picks, an extra set of strings and a cord to plug in to an amp. I'm amazed that they're somehow able to offer this at $99, but I'd say grab one now before they raise the price! You won't be sorry. ... show more
