    • Just under $50 What a Deal!
A solid mahogany top (rare) no sharp fret wires, also rare, smooth well fitted joints, and stained the same color over the entire instrument (including the back side of the neck). The tuners are of better quality than most, no slipping. Then Caramel throws in a nice looking, well padded bag, a clip-on tuner, an extra set of their nylon strings, and picks. The strings are set at the correct height and intonation is correct up to fret 12. Just to show off a bit, because I've never seen it done, but what at first looks like a sound hole decal turns out to be a vert nifty laser cut design. I may go back and order another one just to have a great uke to gift to a friend or new uke devotee! Because of the low price, I wasn’t expecting anything more than a cheap entry level uke that I could use to learn on and eventually buy something better off I stuck to it. Got this for our toddler daughter who (at the time!) was obsessed with “Coco” and Moana and playing guitar. But, as a guitar & ukulele player myself I couldn’t bring myself to just get her some fake plastic toy junk. This is a legit enough “real” instrument in that you really can play it, tune it, and learn with it. It holds its tuning well enough and it’s real wood w real frets & strings and hardware. It’s a “good enough” starter uke. We got the nice kit w/all expected stuff - tuner, strap, picks, strings & bag. Good price for all that, though you don’t really use picks or a strap for a soprano ukulele so they’re mainly playtime accessories. The sound quality isn’t great, but it’s far cheaper than something that sounds better so that’s to be expected. I don’t know if there’s much difference between this and something like a Kala in the same price range. The Kalas at the time didn’t have a similar kit w bag & tuner, and this actually looked a lot nicer/more interesting so I went w this instead. Overall, good for what it is. Hoping over time our daughter will actually keep learning and wanting to play. Mom also uses this and/or my ukulele while I play guitar and we all do terrible renditions of Disney songs because toddler so we have to … It’s pretty cool :) ... show more
