During a recent road trip from NYC to Lake George, I used the car rooftop cargo carrier bag, and it was pretty solid. On the plus side, it offered a whopping 21 cubic feet of storage space, allowing us to pack all our gear without any issues. The upgraded zipper and strong straps gave us peace of mind that our belongings were secure throughout the journey, and the non-slip mat was a nice touch to keep everything in place. However, the four door hooks provided felt a bit flimsy, and we were concerned about their long-term durability. Additionally, while the bag claimed to be waterproof, we noticed some minor leaks during heavy rain. Probably from the zipper area so ensure it's fully closed before you depart.

This cargo carrier bag was very durable and easy to install on top of our SUV. We used it to go camping and it was able to hold all 5 of our duffle bags, 2 tents, sleeping bags, blankets, and other misc "soft" stuff. I was impressed how much it could hold! The zipper worked great and the bag itself does seem like its weatherproof and durable. The only issue we had was that the straps to secure it to the car didn't seem too sturdy. We were afraid the clips would slip, so we used a couple of our own straps to secure it down.

So flippin stoked about this one!!! Everyone makes fun of my car and how completely impractical it is for travel', especially when I offer to make the drive as everyone else sleeps like lazy little punks 😒 Let me tell you this whatever-it's-called is a HUGE game changer if you have a vehicle, the means to drive it, and the desire to get away. How many times have I had to settle or say no in terms of places I wanted to go (especially when I just wanted some alone time!) I truly feel this is such a thoughtful gift to anyone... if I had been gifted this my high school graduation I KNOW by life would have taken a completely different trajectory because I was never able to visit the colleges I wanted to due to being the everything for everyone else in my life. I was never able to just pack up & go to find some sanity & the people that were in my life at that time knew it. Sad but true. Gift this to a graduate or your nephews & nieces! It's not a complicated piece of equipment to operate haha. Plus, you are forced to be a more diligent driver due to the load being hauled (bonus Jonas, right?) I ordered this a couple weeks ago & have already used it for completely different purposes twice, and of course everyone else has been calling dibs on it but it's mine 😍

Rubberized exterior, velcro secured flaps covering zipper. Comes with a bag to hold the carrier when not in use. Straps are made of good strong material. Sewing seems well done. Zippers are quality. Doesn't look too bad on the top of the car either.

We used this rack on an 8 hour drive for our family vacation. We were able to fit five carry on suitcases and a bunch of other junk into it. We attached it to the car with the included straps, and my husband added bungees at the front and rear for extra security. We do have cross bars on our vehicle - it fit perfectly between the bars on our XC90 and the cross bars added a little bit of extra security, ensuring that the bag wouldn't shift forward of backwards. It kept everything dry for the trip. When we arrived, we emptied it out but didn't immediately remove it from the car. That wasn't smart. It rained overnight, and even though the interior of the bag stayed dry, there were puddles that would rain down on us as we drove around our vacation destination. The bag held up perfectly for the 16 hours it was full of our stuff. At one point, I noticed a thumping on the roof - I pulled over, my husband hopped out to retighten the straps, and we were back on the road. We never confirmed the cause of the thumping sound, but it hadn't shifted. Even though it looks all nice and neatly stuffed in the listing photos, getting it to look like that in reality is nearly impossible unless you wrap everything in blankets. It looks kind of like a jumbled pile of garbage bags on the roof, but works really well. There were no rips or tears from the trip, but as with any trip that involves a lot of highway driving, it was the victim of road bug splatter. The storage bag that it comes with is handy to keep it safe until our next long drive. I appreciate that the non-slip mat that it comes with not only helped to prevent shifting on the roof, it also protected the paint on top of my SUV. No complaints at all.

I got this for a 6 hour trip my husband and I went on. This fit all our suitcases and dog bed and food. We only got rain in one place for about 20 min and nothing was wet when we got to our family’s. This fit perfectly on my car which I have rails on top so that was perfect. Also a lock for when you leave your car at a pit stop. Very nice bag with lots of room.
