Purchased the jump starter to keep as a backup in the car for emergencies. Little did we know it would come handy when our Quad would not start. We used the starter and it started the Quad quickly which I was not expecting. I didnt evern get any sparks like the jumper cables. Its a very safe tool to use with safety features. Not only is it compact in size I like the fact that it is powerful, has a bright LED light for night, built in flashlight, multiple settings and features, USB charger for cell phones. Very functional and easy to use its so compact that you can store it in your glove compartment or in the trunk wheel-well. Highly recommend for the value. Its a must have.

I bought this as a gift for my father-in-law. As he gets older, we worry about him getting stuck and needing a jump, so this is a perfect tool for him to carry in his car. We did not have a car that needed a jump start, but his riding lawnmower battery is getting old and often is not strong enough to start up. Perfect for a test! Using this jump starter could not be easier! You attach the clamps directly to the battery terminals, using the color coded cables that attach to the battery. There is a green LED that lights up when it is correctly connected, so you know at a glance when you are good to go. Unlike jumper cables, you do not have to do a complicated routine of remembering which terminal to connect in what order to which car--you just connect and go. It does not seem possible that a device of this size would give you the same capabilities as a pair of jumper cables, but the product literature says you can get 45 starts out of the 12,800MAH battery (and it advertises 5,000 amps of current). I am a believer, as His lawn tractor fired right up in our test, which was perfect. I usually use my battery charger in jump start mode to get him going and this was so easy that he could do it himself. Although we were just using this on a 46" lawn tractor, the product listing claims it will work on a variety of vehicles up to a good-sized truck. There are some extra features built into this starter, such as a flashlight (with three modes, including SOS flashing), and a port to use this as a charging bank for a mobile phone. The manufacturer says the the charge will last for 36 months in stand by mode. To be safe we will charge it every few months, but it is nice to know that it can hold a charge for a longer period of time. Charging could not be easier by using a standard USB-C cable. The one I bought had 73% battery remaining, and it charged up to 100% in less than an hour. The starter is not large, measuring slightly more than 5x8 inches and 4 inches thick. We are really happy with this purchase and the peace of mind it provides.

Works well, But... I used it to start my car after the battery died and it started right up, no problem. This little Jumper really works. For $50 bucks I'm impressed. But... It drained down to 70% charge after that. I'm not sure if you could get another jump with it before charging it again. Maybe one more. From 70% it took about 2.5 hours to charge back to 100%. Something to think about. I recommend it to carry around if you have a questionable battery.
