Features

  • [Car Battery Tester] You can easily test and inspect your 12V lead-acid battery with this TT TOPDON car battery tester. The SOH (State of Health), SOC (State of Charge), Voltage, Current, Rating, and numerous other understandable analytical data are provided by this battery tester. It is compatible with 100-2000CCA regular flooded, AGM flat plate/spiral, EFB, and GEL for their optimum performance.
  • [Wide Application] This 12V battery load tester can only be powered on once it is properly attached thanks to a safe passive testing approach. You may test the batteries of a number of vehicles, including cars, motorbikes, trucks, RVs, ATVs, SUVs, boats, yachts, lawnmowers, and even golf carts, without needing to charge the device first.
  • [3 Testing Function] A battery health test will determine whether or not the battery is in excellent operating order. A cranking test will determine whether or not the electrical system has sufficient power to start the engine. Check to see that the charging current, rectifier diode, and generator are all functioning normally. This handy auto battery analyzer makes sure your summer road trips wont end on a flat.
  • [Ergonomic Features] To help you rapidly determine the health of the battery, this load battery tester is built with three different colors of LEDs. It's easy to use because it operates through a menu system. Additionally, for a reliable and secure connection during the testing process, premium-quality copper clamps have polarity reverse prevention and spark proof features.
  • [Great Choice] The TOPDON BT100 is small and compact, making it simple to keep in a glove box or center console. This battery load tester's rapid and precise results will enable you to decide whether your car battery needs to be replaced or jump-started making it an excellent choice for auto shops, garages, and DIY users who frequently check batteries.

  • Works well
Been very helpful in diagnosing bad batteries. Easy to use and durable.

  • A must have for the DIY amateur mechanic.
Easy to use. Quick test to see if your battery is good, if it can hold a charge, and if your alternator is charging properly. Small, easy to use, cost effective, and costs a fraction of a trip the mechanic. 5 stars.

  • Unexpectedly good
I have been using a 500 amp carbon pile load tester to test lead acid batteries for many years. It works well enough, but it’s large, heavy, and tends to smell bad as it heats up when you use it. It also drains a significant amount of energy from the battery under test to the point where the user manual suggested to charge the battery after running a load, test. Also, the analog voltmeter, is not particularly accurate or easy to read in dim light or at an angle, due to parallax. I bought the TOPDON BT100 with low expectations, but I was proven wrong. The battery health (load) test works by putting a high load on the battery for a very short time, so it does not dissipate much power during the test. This has the advantage of allowing the device to draw very little total energy from the battery and thus generate very little heat. There is also no need to recharge the battery after the test. While the load is applied it measures the battery voltage and calculates the internal resistance of the battery and its capabilities for cranking amps (CA and CCA), as well as displaying its loaded and unloaded voltage. You can set the specified CCA of the battery before the test, which allows it to return a go / no-go result. One of the many advantages of this approach is that the tester is able to determine if the battery clips are not well connected before the test. I tested the BT100 on a number of lead acid batteries, including a 9AH UPS battery, an 18AH UPS battery, a 250AH AGM battery bank that I use for power back up, and my car battery which is rated for 520 CCA. In all cases, I got nearly identical results to the carbon pile tester. In addition to battery health, you can use it while starting the car to measure cranking time and the minimum battery voltage during cranking. You can also use it to test the charging system in your car, and of course, to report the battery idle voltage. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality results provided by this device. I’ve only owned it for a couple of weeks, so I can’t speak to its longevity, but so far it’s a huge win. Disclaimer: I purchased this with my own money. I was not asked to write this review, and these are my own opinions. Also, I am not an AI bot although I’m not sure how you could tell if I was :) ... show more

  • Seems to be an accurate tester for the price.
Easy to use functions, and the tests are self-explanatory. The clips are difficult to use with side post batteries.

  • Worked like a charm!
I was very confident I had a bad battery: end of life. As soon as I tested the battery, the TopDon tester flashed red and indicated "Replace". I haven't used the other features yet, but it did what I needed it to do and well worth the money.

  • Very good battery tester.
This is a very good battery tester. It's super easy to use. It's a good tool for testing all kinds of batteries. It's not a bad price for what it is. No more trips to the auto parts store to test batteries and the charging system. Again super easy to use.

  • As advertised
Arrived in mangled package, which I assumed was damaged in shipping. But when I opened it I found the cord was not perfectly wound in its place (you can never return them the way they were when opened) and it started in English rather than asking for the language to be set as it is supposed to. This clearly indicates it was actually opened, used and returned. I don't know whether they thought it was defective or just used it and returned it. All that being said, I tried it and it seems to work just fine. ... show more

  • Good device but accuracy will vary with quality and distance of the gripper contact.
Once you use it you'll find that the second time is super easy. I used to follow the old safety guidelines for charging or jump-starting to attach the red lead first and the black lead to a bolt or metal on the body. Well, it turns out that the device is sensitive to that excess distance (you wouldn't think so). Where a direct clamp to both battery posts may give you a reading of a battery at '100%' in all readings, a poor contact at the posts, OR a ground contact a distance away may give a result that the battery works but has a poor internal resistance and therefore "a poor" or "bad battery". Every time I connect the device to the battery posts (both + and -) I never ever see any kind of spark, so I get my best reliable readings "at the battery. Its still probably advisable to ventilate the battery area to clear any explosive battery gases to be safe. The only complaint is that even though the clamps on this unit are pure copper and grip well, they need an extra 1/2" spread to grip fully around the post connectors; otherwise you may or may not get a good contact from wherever you are forced to barely finagle a grip (two of three of my vehicles have rather wide connectors to the battery in terms of the size of these grippers. Now I'm pretty sure these improved grippers have about the same spread as the cheep ones, but the cheap ones are kind of hollow (being stamped steal) and sometimes they have extra space behind the tips to grip due to their shape alone. But its not a deal stopper; I just think the ability to make a good contact with this device is important. ... show more
