  • Great quality for the price
Style: FM-905Q Carbon
This is a great quality power rack for a home gym. Super sturdy and easy to assemble. I received the top bar with a factory defect. It was a little difficult to find the customer service through their web site. I communicated with an Amazon rep who sent me more detailed info about the company and how to reach out. They responded and will ship the new bar to me. A highly recommended product. Very happy. ... show more

  • Good, but Limited
Style: FM-905Q Carbon
I have to say, for a rack that I paid less than a hundred dollars for, this little guy has been pretty excellent. I've had it for about six months now and it's still in pretty good shape. I think this product can make you very happy, as long as you're aware of what exactly it is you're buying and tailor your expectations to it. This is a relatively small, cheap, lightweight, barebones rack with a small weight peg and a bar holder. It's also got a bar across the top you can set up a bodyweight trainer on or use for pull ups, just don't do what your Crossfit buddies tell you or you'll live to regret it. It's stable, but not enough for kipping pullups or whatever they're preaching now. The rack was very easy to assemble and came with all the parts it needed. It has an advertised weight limit of 300 pounds. I've exceeded that a little bit by racking 315 on it (don't do this, it's stupid) and it held. It was a little wobbly, but the bar didn't come down and kill me. The point of failure on this thing is halfway up the vertical legs. They join by overlapping and having a small bolt go through the holes on each side of the overlap. It may be worth your while to take a trip to the hardware store and upgrade the nuts and bolts. If you're worried about the height of the lifter, you probably shouldn't be. I'm 6'5" and used to squat for volume out of this rack. I set the pins until I can stand almost straight up before ever touching the bar, and there are still a couple holes above the pins. Unless you're around 7', you'll be okay. Going the other way, the holes go almost all the way to the floor, so if you want the bar just a few inches off the ground, you can do that, too. It's wide enough for me to sit all the way down into a squat and not have my knees hit the posts, so you should be good in that direction, too. The holes are not numbered or color-coded for their mate like some racks are, so you'll have to count or make your own marks if you want that. Not a big deal, but it's important to some people. The hooks are fairly small and are a V-shape, not the traditional J hook. If I have one big gripe about this rack, it's the hooks. They're sturdy, but they're a little too small. I had an out of body experience when I missed the hook on one side at the end of a set. 2/10. Would not recommend that experience. The paint on them will also rub off on the bar's knurling. This can be good or bad depending on how panicky you are. Red flakes and lots of sweat made it look like I was bleeding during a workout. My girlfriend said we were going to the ER, but I knew I was going to Valhalla. Final word: buy this rack if you can be careful and don't plan on going over 300 pounds on any of the big lifts, or if you have a younger kid you're trying to build a little home gym for on a budget. Outside of that, you'll leave this rack behind pretty quickly and there are much better options out there for you. ... show more

  • Great discount rack
Style: FM-905Q Carbon
The media could not be loaded. Now that I've owned this rack for a few years and put it through the wringer, I feel qualified to write a review. I would definitely recommend this for anyone that is getting into lifting and doesn't want to spend a lot of money. I've put 360 lbs on a bar using this rack and it has held up just fine. I've frequently gone above the 300 lb weight capacity (even on the pullup bar on top) listed and after 5 years it's still giving. Amazing value for 100 dollars. Now to the things to consider if you buy this: Expect some significant front-to-back and even side-to-side movement if you use this for pullups (especially weighted). Also, expect movement if you're squatting and unracking/reracking the weight and you use more than 200 lbs and have the hooks above the bolts that hold the bottom and top sections together. Next, the bolts connecting the base to the top of the rack make this horribly inconvenient for benching, depending on the height of your bench and the length of your arm. For me, the ideal hook height for flat bench would be right where the bolts are, so I have to start each set with fairly bent arms. Not a deal-breaker, but definitely not ideal. This would also be annoying for squat/press if you are right around five feet tall (5'0"). Finally, when you really load this thing up, it makes pretty terrible popping and groaning noises. Lifting heavier on this rack is definitely not for the faint of heart, but that's not really what it's built for. Bottom line: if you are in a space/money pinch and want a good discount rack, this one is great. If your rack sounding and looking like a ship in a severe storm whenever you load heavy makes you uncomfortable, or you plan on using it frequently for bench/are really short, this might not be your best option. Happy lifting! The attached video is me (~200 lbs) doing weighted chin-ups with 90 lbs added for reference. ... show more

  • Get the job done.
Style: FM-905Q Carbon
Initially when the squat rack arrived the upright holes were misaligned and I was unable to properly secure them them together with the screws, I reached out to CAP and after a few back and fourths they sent a replacement which now aligns properly. I was disappointed and first but and now happy with the overall purchase which is fairly decent for the price. The rack quality is what's to be expected for $100 dollars. I wouldn't load more weight than what's recommended. The jhooks and spotter arms are ok and get the job done, but nothing impressive. The squat rack only weighs around 55lbs and is easy to move around. I bought it for lifting outdoors and I'm pleased with my purchase. Yes its not the sturdiest, but it is worth having as a secondary or outdoors rack. ... show more
