  • Not a bad rack
Package came destroyed as everyone already noted, but a 150 pound box gets damaged. The package also came 3 days early, so that’s a huge plus. Easy to set up, I did it alone in close to two hours. No missing or broken pieces. I did have one extra washer, and note that hardware to mount to the floor is not included but manufacturer recommends 3” concrete anchors. Did a few pull-ups and squats and the rack works great. The area from the front to back of the frame where you would perform squats is awkwardly small. Much smaller than a commercial rack but this will do the trick. The colored pieces are horrible, the paint is so thin and easy to chip. It would have been better to not paint at all, so prepare for your bar to eat the paint. The hooks for the bar and the safety are the same side pieces meaning the cross bar to keep them on the frame are both on the right sides so it looks weird. Also, other j hooks would be better, for 30 or so dollars I may order new ones. All in all the rack is well worth $250. I will be testing it this week and will update this review if need be. Update: after a week of usage, and not light soft usage either, paint chips super easy. J cups, or whatever these red pegs are, definitely need replacement. Haven’t tested the safety bars nor do I hope to. I would buy new j cups. Paint on rack and frame chip easy form normal bar racking and shifting (freshly knurled barbell). Rack is shallloooowww for squats, go back too far and you’ll hit the cage. Pull ups feel ok, sort of wobbly. Still worth it on a budget, if I didn’t buy this during a pandemic I would have opted for a more reputable brand and definitely not 2x2 steel, probably 3x3. Not many 2x2 attachments made for this cage. ... show more

  • A simple, yet GREAT power rack...
Boy do I love this power rack. It was well packaged, EASY to assemble, and I love that it doesn’t take up that much space as others do. Our study is fairly small so we had to make sure to find a good size that didn’t eat up most of the space, and this one worked out great. It doesn’t sway at all when I did some pull-ups, and I’m about 230lbs, so. Very sturdy, and overall happy with this purchase. On another note, I’ve read reviews where they say the posts aren’t made correctly to match, and they show a couple side by side where the holes aren’t aligning...WELL, that’s because you have to flip one of them around. Make sure you install them at the correct orientation, there’s one end that has a longer length before the holes begin, and the other end is a little shorter obviously. Lastly, 6’ Olympic barbells work with this cage, for those who like using the smaller bars for smaller spaces. ... show more

  • Great starter rack for a basement gym
I got this so I can move onto barbells from my current setup of dumbbell exercises. To address some of the points brought up in reviews PACKAGING: The box came with cardboard corner reinforcements on all edges and many of the components had their own cardboard corners. The kind of thing that you do because of experience in how boxes can break. I had no issues with components or hardware. ASSEMBLY: Took me about an hour to decipher the diagrams and assemble it by myself. You really need a metric socket wrench and allen wrench (hex wrenches) to do this. USE: I've used it as a squat rack, rack for bench presses, and a rack to set up the barbell so I don't have to start an exercise with a clean off the ground. The holes for the hooks are 4" apart. While that was fine for the squats and other exercises, I completely understand why the standard is 2" apart (and Westside spacing is 1") when doing bench presses. I wish I could have moved both the safety bars and the catches by an inch (not in the same direction, so just putting boards underneath my bench would not do the trick. I have to be careful with the hooks. The first time I used it I spun one hook around. It did not come off, but I got real nervous and I've been careful to walk into the post and then lower the bar into the hooks after that. Hooks are painted red, and they have been peeling off both on the holes and on the bar. I have used a suspension band across the pullup bar, but when using it I pull over the whole rack. So for suspension bands, I use the back bar and I weigh the rack down using sandbags. I have a 5' bar that I got off Facebook Marketplace. It is too small for the rack, I will need a 6' or greater (not a fault of the rack, but I notice that there are a lot of questions about the required bar size) I am generally very happy with the rack. With it I've started going much more aggressive in squats and bench presses. I've practice bailing on both, squats are just as they should be, the bench press is harder than it should be because of the hole spacing. It also allows me to add pull ups (scaled) and various exercises that involve hanging. At this point, I cannot think of anything major that I'm missing from my home gym. For the price, the only reason I took off a star was the paint and stability issue with the catches and safety bar, everything else is great for the price. ... show more

  • Great Addition to Home Gym
I. Love. This. Thing. Fantastic price. I saved enough on this that I was able to buy other items I needed for my home gym. Colored paint WILL get damaged. That doesn't matter to me, but if that is something you care about, this may not be the one for you. I have the black and red one and love the look. I bought plate storage attachments that I added to the back. The added weight helps keep it stable while also keeping plates safe. This thing is LIGHT. It WILL move if you aren't careful. I don't have mine bolted down, but there are holes on it so that it could be. I just like being able to move mine. So, if you are worried, you can bolt it down and/or add weight plate storage like I did. The pull-up bar is very slick. I plan on taping it so that the grip is better. I'm short, and have it in my garage that has low ceilings. The short profile is a huge reason why I picked this one, and I am very happy with it. ... show more

  • Great for the price!
If I could I would give a zero star rating! This product is not worth the money, i tried it out for a week and after my second session the rig itself has shifted to the right not to mention that thew products box came torn up and missing two bolts. Not only were the bolts missing but the actual manufacturer for the screws probably had a screw lose because the bolts were huge and the actual nuts to keep the bolts in check didn't even go all the way to safely secure the pieces of the rig. I purchased after seeing some positive comments and pictures but honestly don't waste your time or money you will be disappointed. ... show more

  • Sturdy
This is awesome. Since the pandemic I have slowly been building an at home gym. I missed being able to use barbells so I got this. I love it. It wasn’t too bad to put together and is easily adjustable. It fits in my basement which has a drop ceiling. That was a big concern of mine. I don’t lift super heavy, but have had zero issues with the 100ish pounds I rack. My daughter uses the pull up bar all the time for Ninja class training. ... show more

  • I like this rack, but has issues
First off, let me say I do really like this rack and it serves it’s purpose well. Any cons I mention are easy for me to work around but may be a real breaker for another buyer, so they should know about them. The absolute best thing about this rack is the price, it had the most to do with my decision to purchase and is well worth the money. I needed a shorter power rack for my garage gym because of very low ceilings and light fixtures, so this fit the bill perfectly. It’s 6ft tall, I am 6ft tall, so I was aware that there may be some ducking to get in and out of this thing which is fine. However, because of the design, the crossbars at the back of the rack makes it impossible to squat from that direction (facing the back), so you have to lift off the front, and if your 6ft tall or taller, your guaranteed to smack your head on the pull up bar. If it were only a few inches further forward this wouldn’t be an issue, but it’s right at the wrong spot for me and I have to duck under it (not ideal with heavy weight on your back.) This back crossbar also makes it difficult to slide my bench back far enough bench off the back posts (where you have to) as effectively, and really affects incline presses. Crossbar is nice because your feet fit under it for sit-ups, but that is not an important perk. The weight catches are crap, they move when adjusting the bar and have a very high lip. I spent 25 bucks and bought some yes4all j-hooks that work great. It’s pretty sturdy, but I chose to bolt it down. It also doesn’t come with plate holders that would make it wobble less. Problem with bolting it is the mounting holes are very small, like only big enough for a large screw. These should be bigger, scares they will break with a heavy load being dropped down. Also, with having to squat off the front post, you need something to stabilize it. Safety catches work well and are rated for 500 pounds, easily replaceable, and have weight catches on the front which is awesome. They are painted red which is stupid because as soon as the bar touches them, you’re getting paint everywhere. I really don’t care though. There is plenty of room inside the cage for exercises. Keep good form and you don’t need a huge cage for your big lifts. There is about a 4-5 inch over hang of the 7ft bar which is annoying, but I’ve never had it try to tip the bar when loading and unloading plates. I bought weight plate holders that I use for dips on this rack. Cheaper them dip attachment and works great The hole spacing is a good distance apart, meaning your not always going to have the perfect set up for some lifts. I just deal with it. Slick pull-up bar, I taped mine. Also helps when I smack my head. 500 pounds weight capacity, which I hope it meets, but it feels solid enough, I’ve had 300+ on it for squats and it’s been fine. If your planing on doing 800 lb. rack pulls or something stupid like that, get something else or go to a gym and tear their stuff up. No bells and whistles, this is a cage you lift weights in. It sounds like a lot of problems but I really do enjoy using this cage, all of these cons can be dealt with, or you can spend 400 bucks more and get something perfect for you, but my bank account doesn’t work like that. Good, tough little rack. ... show more

  • Solid weight cage, very stable, easy to assemble
I read previous reviews about damage to shipping boxes, so I was expecting it. And yes, the shipping box was trashed when it arrived. But everything inside the box was protected, intact, nothing missing, everything fit together perfectly, only needed a wrench/plier to tighten the nuts. Once assembled, the cage is very stable, serves its purpose perfectly, and a great price. Only a few things need to be addressed. The J hooks and safety bars lock-in mechanism are not very secure, can easily be twisted out. I might need to invent a velcro strap or bungee cord wrap to tie around them. Also, the holes are spaced at intervals that are wider than optimal, so for my bench press, the holes are either too high or too low. And lastly, the 6ft overall height is a little too low, I wish they could make cages like 78" tall so we don't hit our heads on the pullup bar. I wrapped a foam insulator tube around it to save my forehead from concussive impacts. Overall, very happy with the purchase though, hope it lasts a long time. ... show more
