  • confusing manual and no black-only print !!
I found online manual unclear. I own and have owned Canon printers and cameras for many years but this is the first time I have needed to call the manufacturer for installation advice. (Canon claims they recently changed the approach to writing an on-line manual :( Despite an answered question here, this printer can NOT be set to print black only, and the assumption that it could be led to my selection of this printer (unfortunately) ... show more

  • Money well spent!
This printer is exactly what I hoped for. The gray ink makes colors so much more true-to-life. I get many, many more photos than with my old HP, and the prices of the in tanks is comperable. Even better is the fact that photos are printed edge-to-edge. No more white border! I am sure there are more technically savvy reviewers that can comment on the included software, so I will simply note it is pretty capable and easy to use in this respect. I only wish there was a document feeder. ... show more

  • I Was Pretty Worried
There are so many negative reviews for each printer I found on Amazon. It's so hard to tell from each review if the problem was user error or manufacturing error. In the end I bought this Canon, because it was small, clean looking, did the basic scanning and printing I needed, and it had a color touch screen. For the past month it has worked great on my 2013 Macbook Pro! I did have to install the special Canon drivers to get scanning to work, which has always been a hang up on this Mac with other printers as well. Otherwise it prints, it prints quickly and quietly, and scans perfectly. Small, folds itself up when not in use, and hasn't had a single problem. I'm very happy, and very reassured that there are good working printers out there. Just be aware, as with all technical devices, some knowledge and know-how is required to get this working; if you don't have that, ask a friend! ... show more

  • Does everything it says it could do!
Very nice all in one printer, only problem i had was with the paper size that keeps going to A4 paper, have to keep changing the setting but otherwise it’s a great but fairly expensive neat touch screen printer. Make sure when you buy this printer, you read instructions properly before you try to insert ink. Prints well! ... show more

  • Wonderful Canon wireless printer
This is a great printer that was very easy to install and connect via WiFi to all my devices. I was able to connect with my Windows desktop computer, Macbook and Iphone. It also copies and scans without any issues . I recommend this purchase if you are in the market for a wireless printer that can also copy and scan. ... show more

  • Print head went bad within 2 years
The good news: Print quality on this little printer was quite good and ink replacements very reasonable. The bad news: user unfriendly -- the instruction manuals and online extras were poorly organized and continually irritating when trying to find some process instructions or use features. I bet I didn't use 20% of the features because they were so darn hard to discover or navigate. The really bad news? After only 2 years, the print head went bad. I did everything possible to get 2 new ink cartridges to work before I called Canon. Canon rep said toss the machine. I was flabbergasted. Especially when I went online to see what they're selling for today. $500 RU kidding? I paid $100 two years ago. Pass on this machine. As a matter of fact, now I'm passing on Canon printers entirely. ... show more

  • Are you kidding me?
The best thing I can say is ,it was supposed to be delivered between Jan 8th - Jan 15th and it arrived Jan 2nd. Now...it didn't arrive in an Amazon box. It came in the original Canon box that was barely taped on the one end, and left on my front door stoop for everyone to see. It's a good thing I was home to get it before someone decided to steal it. I opened it today (the day after it arrived), took all the tape off and went by the written instructions. Didn't get passed step 3. As soon as I turn the power on, it tried to go through the cycle and I immediately got a printer error 5100 code. I was unable to solve it myself so I went online and chatted with a Canon person who in the end also couldn't solve the issue. Looks like a manufacturers defect in that the ink container kept getting stuck/stopped by the ink absorber thing on the right. Since it's under a Canon warranty, instead of sending this one back to Amazon (amazinoutlet),Canon is sending me a new printer and once I receive it, I'll send this one back to Canon. Let's hope the one they're sending me works out better than this one. ... show more

  • It Lasted About 2 Years
I had a paper jam. After that, it would not work and gave me a code of C000 which suggested the ink cartridges were not installed correctly or there was still a paper jam. I removed the back of the printer to clean it and saw nothing and checked the cartridges and they were OK too. In addition, most of the time the wireless didn't work and I had to connect it directly to my laptop. It printed very well though so I didn't give it a 1. There is a happy ending though since I got the Square Trade Warranty and they are covering it. I have checked other Canon printers for a replacement but it seems they all have as many positives as negatives so still looking. ... show more
