The MF462dw II uses high quality Canon Genuine Toner 070 / 070 H, for bold, crisp output your business can count on. Toner 070 yields approximately 3,000 pages and Toner 070 High-Capacity yields approximately 10,200 pages. The MF462dw II offers a plain paper capacity of up to 250 sheets in the standard cassette, 100 sheets in the multipurpose tray, and expandable paper capacity of up to 900 sheets using optional cassette AH-1 which holds up to 550 sheets. The 2-sided, automatic document feeder (ADF) holds up to 50-sheets and scans both sides of your document in a single pass using the one-pass scan function, which helps save you time. Great value for the price.

Just finished setting up this multi-function printer. The setup could not have been easier. I connected the printer to power, plugged in the Ethernet connection. The printer was then turned on and after about 30 seconds it informed me there was a firmware update available and did I wish to install it. After clicking yes, the printer found Canon's website, downloaded and installed the new firmware. In all the firmware update took less than 5 minutes. After the firmware update was completed, I was directed to Canon's website to download software drivers for my operating system. The process of downloading and installing the drivers took about 3 minutes. Once that was complete the printer spit out a perfect test page. I then tested the scanning and copying functions which also worked perfectly. I did not test the Fax function (who still sends faxes in this day and age) but I am confident, based on how things have gone thus far, that the Fax function will work flawlessly as well. This printer it very very quiet. You can barely hear it print. The scanning is slightly louder but no where near enough to be bothersome. Printed pages will start rolling out within a couple of seconds of being sent and to complete a midsize print job (I tested it with a 25 page document) was finished in a few seconds. This printer is very fast. The printer monitoring software is very easy to understand with toner amount in the printer, scanner, fax and printer status displayed and easy to understand. I highly recommend this printer for home or small office use.

I purchased this in early 2025 based on prior ownership of Canon laser printers for use at home with a good deal of printing from Apple devices. Print quality was excellent. The problem was that it would not maintain the WiFi connection. It was located within 6 feet of the router. I didn’t time the period it remained on line. Frequent use of the stairs and inability to cure the problem generated the rating. For the first time I had purchased “insurance” and ended up only the insurance cost out of pocket and ended up with a credit for the purchase price, that I am using up.

Easy Network Setup

Many have said they had problems setting it up so I was a little worried. Needless to say I set it up as a network printer and had zero problems. Probably has more options on it than I need... I don't need fax (who does this anymore?). I need it to be a work horse as I just opened up my business (Aegis Knight if anyone needs their computer cleaned, upgraded or need one custom built)

it works if it is installed properly. Canon is cutting corner now, does no provide software/driver, instead, they give a paper with a web link printed on it. The problem is the driver installation always fails if I use the link. The bigger problem is they do not provide any solution, but keep telling me to "try again/start over again". I downloaded the driver/software from Canon support web site, the same issue, installation failed again and again. Eventually, I called Amazon, I was provided a download link after repeatedly failed over and over. The software/driver was installed with the new link, but not functional. It turned out the link guided me to a wrong version of driver. It was for MF462dw, instead of my printer, MF462dw II. I contacted Amazon again, I was told to download and install another driver, Generic Plus UFR II. I tried it, again, failed. Eventually, I was able to install the driver. The right way of installation: - uninstall any canon driver, printer, software from previous unsuccessful installation, unplug the usb cable from the printer, - download "Master Setup" from usa.canon.com/support (find imageCLASS MF462dw II) - run Master Setup as administrator. Plug in USB cable when you are asked to, - when "Master Setup" completed, the printer will be installed correctly. It took me a day and half to figure this out. I knock out two stars for this reason. It works nicely after successful installation.
