  • OEM is usually the best way to go
If you take a lot of pictures the dual battery vertical grip is needed item

  • Official Canon grip for a fraction of the price
This battery grip for the Canon 6D Mark II is awesome! It is the official Canon product for nearly half the price of other retailers and in perfect condition. I was initially hesitant to pull the trigger on ordering a battery grip because I didn't want to take a chance on a third party product just because it was cheaper, I didn't want the weird look of a grip that didn't align with the camera's form, all the other Canon brand grips were pricey, and I didn't want to have to choose between using the tripod mount or having a battery grip. The Good: $189 is the best price I have found for this grip. You can use two batteries, or use a single battery Because it is official Canon it communicates with the camera which means you know exactly how much battery life you have. There is a Tripod Mount! So I didn't have to choose after all. The grip screws into the camera's tripod mount so it's nice and secure. The Meh: With 2 batteries, the grip, and a Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM Lens on this camera - it is HEAVY. You may experience fatigue in your hand/wrist if you are going to be shooting for an extended period of time. If you use a little sling bag like this - Lowepro Adventura SH 140 II - A Protective and Compact Shoulder Bag for a DSLR or DJI Spark , the camera with the grip attached won't fit. ... show more

  • Makes vertical shots feel normal and adds battery capacity.
I gave it a good value for money since these are never cheap for good quality and the price was good buying from this seller. Some well known photographers do not like vertical grips as they add bulk and weight, for me even in normal landscape, it is easier to cup the battery grip with my left hand, it acts as a ballast for balance. The extra battery is always welcome with digital equipment. I also shoot film with an EOS 3 and EOS 1V with their vertical battery grip. The ergos feel common amongst my Canons film or Digital. The Canon feel is part of the reason I stay with them. In case you haven't realized it, I love having vertical grips and their added battery capacity. I have large format cameras that weigh more than a bag of sugar, this setup is light to me, heavy and bulky to others. ... show more

  • Increases Battery Life
Virtually eliminates the need to change batteries in the field. I see no advantage in the redundant buttons, however.

  • Fantastic Grip
I have wanted this grip ever since I bought my 6D Mark II. It works flawlessly and the dual battery tray provides ample power for all day shooting. It will work with either one or two batteries. The grip is also great for someone with large hands, like me. It make the camera much more stable and secure in my hands with a solid feel. It does have a tripod mount on the bottom, which I was concerned about. The vertical shutter release button is great. Very glad I bought it. This will really aid in my outdoor photography. Thanks Canon for another great product. ... show more

  • Wants and needs.
The product is over priced but that’s Canon. Vendor shipping was great. Product came as promised in good shape. I had a similar unit on my old Canon EOS 20 and used it for years and thousands of photos. I up graded to a Canon EOS 6D MK2 and missed the feel of the grip. It seems to be a must for long lenses. Good service from a long time vendor. ... show more

Have not had it that long and still evaluating the item. So far so good but will possibly regrade at a later date

  • Long battery life
Outside of being a little bulky and adding weight to the camera, I am very happy with the battery grip. It more than doubled the length of time I can shoot by piggy backing the batteries. It's also very easy to install, and the added plus of a battery door storage space inside the stalk of the grip make it perfect for beginners or pro's. ... show more
