UPS in this area is very unreliable. I live in an apartment. We have an intercom system at the front in order to contact a resident. v I was not contacted. The UPS driver just left a door tag saying the package would be left at the nearest UPS Store for pick up. I don't drive. This little printer does the job. Small and no bells or whistles just prints quickly and correctly. Spent loads of time shopping for a simple printer for home use and glad I found this one. As other reviewers have mentioned DO NOT connect to your computer until you have downloaded the software and your computer tells you it can't find the printer THEN plug it in to your computer. First off, I do like this printer once we were able to set it up, but the installation failed several times and I was on the verge of sending it back for a refund. The instructions were not very clear so I will elaborate on the steps that actually worked. Remove the orange plastic thingy on the printer Plug the printer into the power supply and turn on Insert the ink cartridges, color on the left and black on the right Insert paper DO NOT PLUG IN USB TO COMPUTER YET!!! Either run the disc for installation or go to the canon website for installation Go through the tutorial until it installs During installation it will prompt you saying it doesn't detect the printer, at this time plug the usb from the computer to the printer. Voila....it will prompt you for an alignment and to test a scan and you are good to go. If you were like me and had the USB plugged in prior to installation the detect will take forever then eventually fail. If this happens go to your device manager and uninstall the printer. Then unplug the usb and reinstall following my directions above. Took me a few hours to figure out, so hopefully yours goes smoother with my advice. ... show more

Print quality excellent. Value for money I gave 3 stars because ink cartridges somewhat expensive. Setting it up was easy thanks to cd software for it. This is second one I bought in 3 years (first one works fine) because I feel Canon will be discontinuing this model fairly soon.

It does print a decent looking photo, but there is a huge margin of blank space at the bottom of the page. This is really bad for what I need to do. I thought I could make a 2-up 2" x 6" photo strip template that would print with a full bleed on a 5 x 7 page. With that huge space at the bottom, all I can do with that 5x7 template is print it on a full 8.5 x 11 page. What a waste of material - and money. 😕 ... show more

This is my second Canon MG2* series printer. The first worked for many years without problems. Finally bit the dust and I replaced it with this version. Works right out of the box. Prints a little faster than my MG20. Nice little printer. Prints a good photo quality on photo paper too. If you want something more complex with bells and whistles, don't buy this one. It doesn't make coffee or kick out a hundred copies per minute but great for basic home use. ... show more
