  • I am pleased!
I read a few negative reviews about connectivity and print quality. I can say that I set up my printer, using the app to review videos and connect to WI-FI and it took around 30 minutes. No muss, no fuss, and then I went to the website to download drivers for my laptop and that took around 10 minutes. The printing is slow for photos, but the quality is so good (clear, great color saturation and no graininess) that I do not mind the wait. The print time for documents was really fast. I understand that the ink cartridges that come with the unit are just to get you started, so I ordered replacements, so I will be ready when the starter ones run dry. My only complaint is that the description does not say what version of ink it takes. So when the suggestion to buy ink with the unit came up, I said yes. The ink came first. But it was the wrong kind of ink and I did not know until the printer came in the mail. I am able to return it for a full refund, but it would be nice if that info was listed with the printer. All in all, I am very pleased. ... show more

  • Let's Be Honest.
You're not here looking at this printer because you have some special job/ purpose. You need to get whats on your screen onto some paper so you can turn it over to an Employer, Teacher, or Government entity. Well congratulations you've found it. This is the printer that checks the box, it prints color just fine, black and white too. If you need an emergency photo on glossy paper it'll do and no one outside of the photography business will be any the wiser. Want to know why I'm here? I'm here because Epson will not print black and white when the Cyan cartridge is empty. I found this printer for $50. Not sure what it is for the endearing reader of this review but you can be assured I was not about to spend that exact amount to refill my Black+Color Epson ink cartridges. Although I cannot yet speak as to whether the printer will print in black and white with a depleted color cartridge. I have had cannon printers in the past that have. Even being able to print my documents in color ink when black ran out in a pinch. I'll keep you informed on that when the time comes. So let's boil it down. Yes, it works and it works well for your College students and Households NOT Offices (if you want an Office printer get any Laser Printer and you'll be fine.) It's not fast, it gets the job done well, easily, and reliably. ... show more

  • INK ISNT REALLY LOW
I love this printer. I needed something I could use to print from my iPad. This has exceeded my expectations. Easy enough to set up. As others have stated, the ink alert comes in after just a few prints, BUT if you ignore it and wait for it to run completely out, you will be amazed at how much ink it still has after the low ink light first appears. I’m still running off the cartridges that it come with in October. My first low ink alert appeared after just a few weeks. So I hurriedly purchased ink refills but decided to wait until the original cartridges ran out. They’re still printing as if new ink. So, despite the reviews on the ink, I would still say it’s the best for the price. I would’ve gave 5* except setting the fax is a bit confusing and I’m still unsure if I have it set properly. If I see that fax is working properly I will most likely change to 5*. ... show more

  • Scanning and Alexa Issues
I am retired IT guy and purchased TR4520 in Mar 2022. Here is Dec 2023 Update. I have been buying Canon printers for home use since 1990's !! TR4520 ink is expensive but we only use 1 or 2 set of cartridges (1-Black and 1-Color) per year (any lower usage and cartridges fail or dry up from low usage). TR4520 Printing and copying are acceptable but I have 2 issues with scanning. 1) I scan recipes from magazines and books, and cannot use ADH (Automatic Document Handler). Last 2 Pixma models allowed "flatbed" scanning direct to local attached USB flash drive. Problem: TR 4520 does not have USB flash drive port (or if it does it is well kept secret). 2) Remote scanning to Windows laptop or Android tablet is unreliable and works less than 2% of the time. Errors include "network disconnect" (never get this with printing), rescanning over and over until I cancel scan, and software says it scanned but image never shows on device. The last issue is that I have never been able to get the TR4520 to be "friends" with Alexa, despite numerous tries and other "Alexa attached" devices working fine. I have reloaded SW and drivers but still the same: Printing/Copying OK, but scanning and Alexa are no goes. I will be more careful buying next printer. ... show more

  • Dar good machine
I do much research and use Wikipedia as a starting point, so I print a lot of information. In the inevitability that my current iteration will eventually give up the ghost, I bought a spare. the printer I ordered has not arrived as of 3 days later. sad emoji
