Not the easiest to understand Setup Instructions, in fact more than a little complicated and confusing. You don't have to be an engineer to set it up, but it's an advantage if you are. The plastic is a bit thin and cheap, but after you wade through the setup it's pretty much downhill after that, it does work very good, and at a very good price. I use scanning and email rather than faxing, and the scanning is great, very nice printing with a lot of options for saving ink such as draft mode etc., mostly use it for scanning, and I don't print a lot but noticed this unit is a bit faster than my previous printer. First Canon printer I've had and hope it lasts as long as my previous one that lasted eight years. So far I'm very happy with it and like the features. Almost got one from one of the competitors, then noticed there was no scanning feeder, scanning one sheet at a time is way too horse and buggy for me. Easy and fast setup using the recommended apps. We have wirelessly printed and scanned with no jamming or connection issues. Not the quietest machine but print quality is good and seems fast enough for home use.

    • The worst purchase I have ever made

This printer is the the most terrible, uneconomical POS I have ever had the displeasure of using. Set up from my cell phone was easy and done in minutes. Sounds like a compliment, however... It is an immense struggle getting anything else to sync with the printer. It will randomly just be unavailable FOR NO REASON! It doesn't matter what we try to send, it fails without explanation. Even the test page will fail. This includes both wired and wireless jobs. It will literally be unavailable to the wired connection. The printer boasts about its auto-document feeder and 2 sided copying: HA HA HA HA HA HA What a nightmare! The document feeder works fine The 2 sided copying ONLY WORKS when you cycle thru the settings and select 2 sided (remember to set it back to normal every time) Want to feed your 2 sided document in to get 2 sided copies? NOPE! You have to feed 2 one sided documents to get the 2 sided copy. Are we having fun yet? Now for my most despised feature: THE STUPID INK CARTRIDGES PRINT AN AVERAGE OF 90 PAGES BEFORE NEEDING TO BE REPLACED!!!! Hey, if you're lucky, you'll get a black ink replacement for $25, usually more like $30. You would pay less to take your documents to CVS or a Copy/Print shop. AWESOME! In all fairness: The printer quality is beautiful It's light weight and compact, perfect for home or cramped dorms It's relatively quiet and fast (if it's nice enough to allow you to connect) I HATE IT! The lower prince lured me in. This was a gift for my elderly mother to print her weekly meeting documents, send fax or scan as needed. SHE CANNOT WORK IT WITHOUT ME, no one can. She must think I hate her for buying her such a beautiful useless piece of crap. I wish I knew in time to return it. Now I'm going to buy her another printer and will have to have this one destroyed so no innocent unsuspecting person finds it and thinks it will be useful. Received the printer today and it took me less than 30 min to unbox and get it connected to WiFi and my iPhone after downloaded the app. I also downloaded the app for my MacBook Air and tried it. I had read in the comments that people were having difficulty connecting to their WiFi , but I had no issues whatsoever. The only reason why I did not give it a 5 star was because the paper tray is not hidden and sticks out when blank paper is loaded. This was not reflected in the many videos I saw about the Pixma TR4720. I have always had HP and the last printer I had for over 10 years, it was a workhorse BUT I will never buy another HP because the ink situation is ridiculous. Once you sign up for instant ink and you cancel, your printer is rendered USELESS. HP is ripping people off and that is why I refused to buy another HP and saw reviews on Canon and I am so glad I got it. ... show more

Had the printer for a year during this time, I had already replaced the ink cartridges (didn’t even print that much or often). Today, I ran out of black ink. Replaced the black ink cartridge and no black ink. Message stating low black ink after replacement. Reseat new cartridge again with same message. Power cycled and unplugged power cord. Unable to get rid of low ink message. Drawn by the price. Now I am unable to print. Had to buy a new printer and a different brand. Buy at your own risk. ... show more

It fit perfectly in the space I have in my room. It’s spacious enough for my ammunitions and rifles. I love the combination of code and fingerprint.
