Had these knifes for over three years, for the most part they kept there sharpness, bought another set with the the sharpener and sharpened them and gave the old set to my parents, wow they are just as sharp as my new ones, good product!!!!!!!

A beautiful set of knives! Elegant and stylish, and extremely sharp right out of the box! I plan to take these to a local butcher shop to have them sharpened, but as they are, these far exceeded my expectations. You can feel the quality of the knives, in balance and overall feel, but when I first used the chef's knife, I was amazed at how it simply "grabbed" the onion I was cutting, almost forcing itself into the surface of the vegetable. When dicing, it easily cut into the slices, cutting them into fine pieces, without scattering them across the cutting board. (You know, how dicing onions can sometimes lead to little cubes of onion being scattered about?) I picked this knife set over a similarly-priced Wรผsthof set, but their quality for this price range has become a bit suspect as of late. Knives have held there edge well so far after 3 months of moderate use. (Expected obviously) but they no longer have their sleek appeal as the blades have micro scratches from me just hand washing them. I like the knives and do recommend them if this won't bother you. knife set contains fairly large knives for a lot of home kitchen applications unless you handle large meats. Wife has a Wusthof set that is a bit tamer but very expensive in comparison. These have been great so far, no rusting and very sharp. very satisfied up to this point.

    • Beautiful and Unbelievably Sharp
These knives are beautiful, balanced, and unbelievably sharp. For anyone upgrading from a starter set, you have to treat these in a much different way that you did with your old kitchen knives. I brushed one very lightly while unpacking them and it nearly cut my finger to the bone. It was like butter, and I barely felt it at first. Also, you should not leave these in the sink or anywhere where you might accidentally brush against one while washing or otherwise. With my old knives I could do this, but these knives require a much different treatment. They are unforgivingly sharp, and should be left nowhere but the knife block. Overall, these knives are incredible and are much sharper than honestly I thought a knife could be. I've had a number of chef's knives in the past but these are another level. They're great, but be careful with them. ... show more
