I spent days making my first RV awning for our new vintage camper. The first time we had it out my sister cringed as she watched me open the metal door, and sliding the corner of the door across the awning. She pointed out that if I wanted to keep the awning I needed this little roller ball. She showed me what to buy and we installed it easily. Now...when I open my camper door I don't watch a metal corner graze across the awning, possibly ripping it. I watch a little ball gently glide across, not even coming close to damaging the material.     • It looked like a useful item but does not work with our door configuration.
Depending on our setup, we sometimes have the door rub the awning when it is opened and closed. I saw this product online at a reasonable price and purchased it to give it a try. The main issue is this product does not work with our door configuration as the ball can not be positioned high enough above the door edge. If it did fit properly, I am not sure how long it would last as it is pretty light weight plastic and the ball does not spin easily when in contact with the awning. I like the concept but the product needs to be better quality and have some size options for different doors. ... show more

I mounted the Awning Roller Ball on my Fleetwood Discovery motorhome door to keep from tearing the motorhome cover as well as the awning when being used. I had to drill holes prior to inserting the screws as you wouldn't be able to self tap into the tough door materiel. The fit was fine and it functions well. I wasn't able to use the round plastic washer on the screen door as the screw would have went right through and stuck out the other side. I don't imagine it would work on any screen door. I don't see where it would be necessary as the door would have to open first preceding the screen door and pushing the cover or awning out of the way. Maybe if your screen door stuck out beyond your main door this would be necessary. ... show more

Looks ok that it would work but the holes don't line up with the wheel type I have on my trailer door. I don't want to drill new holes so I'll order the wheel type one that's exactly the same as the one on the door.
