Well these devices are as simple as could be. You plug them into a wall outlet and you get a single wall outlet on the device that is switch controlled. The build quality of the device seems to be excellent. The switch has a nice tactile and solid feel when being depressed and when it closes and opens. The plastic housing is sturdy and the fit and finish of the item's construction is very good. There are no burs, sharp edges or blemishes. It actually has quite a sophisticated look for what it is. I have two of these switches hooked up to high starting load devices, a 120V high power duct fan and a 120V 800 GPH water pump. I have flipped both on and off over 30 times each by now and both have been plugged in for a week or so. The high starting load would do a number on some junk switches but these babies handled them like a breeze thus far. The switch lights up a pleasant red (not too bright) to signify the outlet is active. Also they are small but not too small. They take up about 1 outlet port on an APC surge protector when plugged in. I am delighted with these switches for the price and I will be buying more of these as they are a Godsend for engineers like me who build a lot of devices and may want to tune them by triggering different segments of the system manually before automating with sensors, etc. They are listed according to the manufacturer and I believe them after using these for a while. This means you have a switch built to safety standards for the enclosure's ability to withstand heat, current load, any arcing that may occur, etc. I should have bough these a lot sooner as they would have saved me from a few "experimental incidents" :-)

My only issue is that it would be better they built these with switches on the left also. When you have a double wall outlet you can only use only one of the side by side outlets because of the interference. If there was a left side switch then you could put a left side switch into the left outlet and the right side switch into the right outlet. This way you could use all 4 outlets with switches instead of just 2. An example of when you need this feature is when you have a bunch of different chargers at one location and want to use switches to turn them off instead of unplugging them.

I used these two places so far; one is on my fish tank filters and the other is my 30-gallon air compressor that I have plumbed through my shop. When you need to clean the filters, this is a great way to shut off and not damage the cord or outlet after plugging in multiple times. The air compressor is installed in a way that I cannot easily reach the switch and since I plumbed in an automatic drain, I don't risk it running all the time. I am sure over time I will find more uses. They are great because they are simple.

I have been unplugging appliances for years, such as my toaster, toaster oven, air fryer, hot plate—anything that can start a fire. But these are great because you can keep it switched off at all times when you’re not using it, it only takes a second to turn it on. I always wanted to have outlets with an on and off switch for the same reason.

I like the basic concept: it is oriented so the switch is on the side, out of the way, and your lamp plug is inserted in its normal orientation. With several in a power strip, you get a nice control panel for your on/off items. Two problems. First, in my little power strip, this switch is just a bit too big and blocks the adjacent outlet. (photos) More problematic is that inserting my devices (a lamp, and a desk fan) the plugs slots are SO TIGHT! I did manage to force them in, but "force" is not a word that usually goes with Plug. They're working, they're great, mfg needs to take a look at the plug dimensions.

I have a couple of work lights that are up out of the way with one on/off switch up where the light hangs. So this unit plugs in at the wall switch and allows me to turn it on and off right at the switch.

I have a kitchen appliance that doesn't have an on/off switch. Plugging/unplugging is the switch. Now it has a switch, and I can leave it plugged in. I also have an extension cord in my garage that I do the same with.
