I've been a birder now going on 25 years and have constantly upgraded when I was able to afford to. I now own a pair of Kahls 8X42 which are excellent binoculars and cost $900.00+ dollars. I took a chance on the Bushnell bundle knowing that when I owned a pair way back when they worked well for hunting. I received them today and after the negative reviews I had to check them out being I purchased them for a gift. Well let me tell you I ran them through all the adjustments checking out the focus adjustment for diopter on the right eye which is firm which some complained about there is no way a light bump is going knock it out like it was stated. They provide excellent light transmission on a cloudy day and they are crisp and very clear. I bought these for my son and daughter in law so he could use them for hunting & she for birding. They do have a close focus of 8.2 feet and crisp & clear. I picked these up on a Chrismas daily deal and would recommend these binoculars to my friends even at there current selling price. All said if these would of been available 10 years ago when I purchased my Kahls I would of chosen the Trophy XLT 10X42. ... show more

Very pleased; could not resist the new price of $60-a real bargain! Great focus, size and weight to hold. Comes with both neck and body straps; only using the neck. It's comfortable in both my hand and hanging from neck. Carrying case and dust bag for storing complete the set. I bought these to replace a very old pair of Bushnell 10x50 wide angle. So I was able to directly compare performances. Wow! I love the new 10x42 ones! Vastly sharper image, and low light sensitivity. Primary use is for hunting. The neck strap is super comfortable, and adjustable for length. Huge range for depth of field. I can get 40-500 yards without having to fiddle with focus. I can get up on target much faster too. Comfortable eyepiece and I like the eyeglass/no eyeglass adjustment too. I'm also convinced they are stronger that the 10x zoom rating of the old pair. I have had no trouble with the lenses covers, and because they stay attached all the time, the lenses will stay a lot cleaner. Would definitely recommend these! ... show more
