I'm a housewife and I get bored occasionally. I hate using my cellphone to mark times of the day this clock has beautiful chimes. It's not annoying either. We use it when we take naps. We lay down for an hour and when it chimes, we get up. Each hour I try to do something different. When it chimes, I check my chore list and do one or two items on it to keep up with my house keeping. I also love that it has an auto light detector. It only chimes when it has ample sunlight. I tried having it in my bedroom as a wake-up alarm clock which I loved because it went off at 7 am. But my tv was too bright and would set it off unless I turned the brightness all the way off and turn the contrast down slightly. I got tired of changing the tv every day, so I moved it back out into my living room for the whole family to hear. It's just my husband and me. He loves the clock even though he's tone deaf he can still hear the music. He said he likes it because it alerts him when he needs to get ready for work. It's expensive but it's pretty and if you learn the song rotation you don't even have to look at the clock when twinkle twinkle little star plays its an hour if you hear a song longer than normal its either 3, 6, 12, or 9. It's even going off now it's such a beautiful clock. you can also manually adjust the volume if it's too loud. There is also a button on the side that triggers the song so you can check the sound. Beautiful clock! Works well and the music is melodious and soothing! When it’s dark, the music turns off. It is elegant and looks great on the wall. Don’t forget it takes 3 batteries, I almost missed the 3rd one that goes in a different location. Without it, the clock won’t work. Finally found the perfect volume level. Even the light of the TV at night keeps it chiming for us, so we like the volume a little lower as we’re winding down for the night. At first I was disappointed it did not chime the specific hours as the one I got my mother years ago; but I remember many people wanting the bells to end already after the melody that already interrupted their shows.     • Melody switch will not move from the off position and the knob is missing for adjusting the volume.
Very nice looking clock. There is "NO" knob to adjust the volume and the switch for the melody is stuck in the off position. I love the clock, but it would be wonderful if it worked as advertised.
